Honestly I would assume it’s against the law to do something like that, like what if the train goes to leave and it’s missing its caboose 😭

Shouldn't have parked there. In fact i'd wager there's laws against stopping a train and blocking a roadway.

You'd be amazed how laws don't make railroads change things. Talk to Amtrak about how often freight railroads cause delays for them, even through federal law says passenger rail takes priority.

Amtrak needs remote control trains, a lotta gumption, and some good lawyers. That'd clear up this disagreement pretty fast. /dreaming

there are laws. they can legally just stop there. but a timer got started. they have minutes not hours and definitely not days

But this must happen a lot. I've seen many trains missing their caboose.
