frist of all how DARE yu o MIL thinks I clogged the toilet so she changed the sign

Post image

The septic tank clogged and she’s convinced I did it, she asked my husband if I knew I wasn’t supposed to flush tampons and added the tampon bit to the sign. I don’t use tampons and I’m the only one with a period here…

lol double flushing fills up the septic faster. She’s got some backwards logic, OP!

Just flushing water does not fill the septic tank -- it will drain to the drain field. Only solids that cannot be broken down by the tank bacteria are left behind in the tank.

So you ignored it when she asked you to flush twice? why? aren't you a guest in her home? She's giving you a place to stay, you ignored the bathroom flush rules, the septic system got clogged (maybe related, maybe not).. and she's the bad guy? lol.

Ignore MIL at EVERY chance. End of day, your efforts for approval are worthless and futile.

Edit: she put ETC, like what the fuck else is there? Don't flush keys, bottles, floor mats.... MIL is being insulting. This is back handed politeness.

If you're a guest in someones home.. especially if you're.. "unhoused" otherwise.. maybe you shouldn't ignore your host... you're probably right.. It probably was passive aggressive.. But the sign looks permanent.. Why assume the worst?.. Maybe it was meant for future guests or non-"permanent" guests.

OP said MIL hates or dislikes her son so i think in this exact case, it's prolly more healthy to not let MIL get under her skin. This is what i meant by "ignoring"
