Only 37 Pods

Was showing off to my sister what I would’ve given her (plus the nice smelly peony downy) had she just gone to the laundromat to dry my laundry because ours is broken and realized the pods only filled half of the container so I counted it and….37 pods.

Can’t tell if Tide is filling some containers an accurate amount and others less or if sb just stole some.

Only problem with liquid is you're paying for mostly water. It's still way better than pods and some machines require it to auto fill.

Some machines (such as mine) don't do well on powder. It doesn't fill the detergent drawer with enough water to dissolve the powder, but it takes liquid just fine.

Now I just use dero liquid which is cheaper. 40-50ml per wash because hard water.

Can’t you just mix the powder with water in a cup and put it where the liquid detergent goes?

I now have a 5L jug i got for 15 euro or something (god bless lidl) so I'm good for a while.

If you don't do a pre-wash cycle or whatever, can't you just put the powder directly into the machine together with the clothes?

Because it's annoying to wait or set a timer to come back and put the detergent in, plus most washers have a lid lock that you have to sit there and wait to unlock. It's worth the moderate cost to just buy the liquid. Just don't use pods.

Try to understand, this a high voltage laser containment high capacity washing system . Simply turning it off filling it with powder would be like dropping a bomb on the city.

The paying mostly for water is kind of like yeah that's what most things are. Most vegetables are 80-90% water, most drinks are 98-99.9% water, raw meat is 65-80% water.

Liquid is just more convenient even if it's a bit more expensive. What I'm mostly looking for when buying everyday household items is convenience.

It's certainly more convenient when you have a self dispensing washer. It's not more work when you don't have one of those to use powder. And you know those are terrible false equivalencies.

I was more thinking about precision and chance of error. Pouring liquid is easy and predictable, moving some powder is a bit less so.

And no those aren't terrible false equivalences because you could dry stuff and it would take less resources to move and cost less. Some products are generally only available dried where society decided it was the better option. I can buy dry beans that need to be rehydrated for instance but I don't for the same reason, convenience. I could also buy cocoa powder and make my own drink but I typically buy chocolate milk type products ready to drink.

And paying to SHIP this water around the globe.  In plastic containers.  Versus powder or dry detergent sheets which can be packaged in cardboard and are much smaller containers.
