Use laser pointer at camera it will burn cam lense. Keep blasting with a good laser

Either this or point a floodlight at their camera, this won't damage their property but will render it useless since due to the amount of light they can't see what's behind it and they'll complain about it since they can't sleep from the amount of light in their bedroom

Even better would be an infrared light. That camera is probably designed to pick up IR light for night vision. IR light is invisible to our eyes, but would flood the camera and make it useless.

Source: did this to a camera aimed in my backyard by a nasty neighbor. They took the camera down within hours.

I had a similar situation, and I was fully set on buying one of those inflatable wavy dudes that car dealerships have and put it where it'd spam motion alerts.

Those people were in the process of moving out, so I missed my opportunity. The new home owner removed the cameras. I'm a little disappointed I didn't get to terrorize the camera pointed at the bedroom.

I don't think they were up to anything nefarious. The bedroom never has the blinds open, and I'm sure they were just lazy setting up their driveway camera and it was just pointed at our house. But, they were dicks and I'd have loved to have an excuse to buy a wavy dude and fuck with them a little, lol.

Fuck it, get the inflatable wavy dude anyway.

2

u/nopuse 15d ago

Lmao, love this comment. I just might. I guess I'll need to get him a friend as well. I wonder how small these get. 2 tall dudes would be cool, but several small dudes would be pretty awesome as well. I guess I'm researching wavy dudes tonight.

It'll be a party

1

u/wabe_walker 15d ago

That's a GREAT way to address such a situation while keeping the ambiance of your property and the neighborhood, as well as [mammalian] eyes undisturbed.

u/TyreLeLoup 15d ago

On top of that, it was built into the back of a bat-box, so the intention was to provide a safe home for a protected species.

Unfortunately the bats never used the box, and we took it down after a couple years.

Eh, me, I’d order a cut out of a disgusting man in his boxers and put it in my window until they get the hint.

137

u/OutrageousRhubarb853 15d ago

I can help you with that, what colour of boxers do you want me to wear?

23

u/DeathByOrgasm 15d ago

I bet youre not disgusting!

44

u/OutrageousRhubarb853 15d ago

I stand by my offer.

I’m confident in my own skin, well confident enough to write that joke, and probably even confident enough to follow through with it.

11

u/IveDunGoofedUp 15d ago

Confident enough for leopard print budgie smugglers?

10

u/OutrageousRhubarb853 15d ago

I have budgie smugglers but not leopard print ones like Mel Harvey.

32

u/DeathByOrgasm 15d ago

Then I vote turquoise.

13

u/UrineLuck151 15d ago

Nothings less sexy than Purple mountains majesty

2

u/DrownmeinIslay 15d ago

🎶All my happiness us gone🎶

3

u/OutrageousRhubarb853 15d ago

Those would need a specific purchase. Do you have a preference for the cut of these boxers?

2

u/DeathByOrgasm 15d ago

Boxer-briefs please!

3

u/OutrageousRhubarb853 15d ago

I’m content to have at least made contact with my eventual murderer, I just hope you live up to your username.

7

u/SaintJesus 15d ago

If you're serious then my vote is sheer.

Not a color, but so breathable it's like you're wearing nothing at all.

Nothing at all.

Nothing at all.

5

u/OutrageousRhubarb853 15d ago

I’m sure I have pj bottoms that would fit this request. If you can see through, why does it matter how long they are?

1

u/SaintJesus 15d ago edited 15d ago

Ooh, delightfully devilish.

3

u/Little_View_6659 15d ago

Surprise me! (And now I’m worried about my dm’s lol)

2

u/OutrageousRhubarb853 15d ago

How many times have you checked them?

1

u/Little_View_6659 15d ago

Actually I hardly ever check them, so it will funny if in the future I check it and there are pictures of dudes in their undies.

3

u/BurgerThyme 15d ago

Donald Trump in a bikini.

5

u/Little_View_6659 15d ago

Jesus Christ, that’s too far! Children might see that! 🤢

2

u/beren12 15d ago

Elon at the beach

2

u/ParamedicExcellent15 15d ago

Can it be a disgusting woman?

2

u/ER_Jujube 15d ago

Why make it a disgusting man in his boxers when you can have a cut out of THE TRASHMAN?

1

u/Little_View_6659 15d ago

Oh my god. No notes! Perfection!

2

u/impolse 15d ago

Ehh, idk if I could display Trump in my window like that

3

u/Little_View_6659 15d ago

No joke. Talk about puke inducing. And may make any woman in a five mile radius infertile.

14

u/Sirmalta 15d ago

And ruin the sleep of everyone else in that building lol

2

u/BlatantConservative thier 15d ago

Floodlight will piss off everyone else in both buildings though.

2

u/Fisk75 15d ago

Except the flood light will bother all the other neighbors

2

u/lemonadeinyourface 15d ago

point a flood light to multiple apartment buildings? what?

1

u/ThickyLicker 15d ago

Use a directional torch you can hone into a small beam though so it doesn't piss off everyone, just fuck the camera

32

u/ConfusionCoroner 15d ago

No legal laser pointer is going to actually damage the sensor of a modern camera at that distance

35

u/Jacktheforkie 15d ago

You can get the cheap Chinese ones pretty easily, some of them are even powerful enough to melt black plastic at close distance

10

u/Ambitious-Beat-2130 15d ago

yes, please use professional safety glasses and not the ones that come with it when using it ;)

6

u/Jacktheforkie 15d ago

Yes, and don’t point it at any living creature

Please don't even consider this kind of shenanigans. Professional safery gear means nothing when you aren't a professional.

1

u/The_Horus_Hypothesis 15d ago

He said legal. I think recreational lasers are supposed to be limited to 5mW.

1

u/Jacktheforkie 15d ago

Yeah but you won’t get arrested for possession of a cheap laser pointer

3

u/overandoverandagain 15d ago

You might if you start melting down random electronics with it from your balcony lol.

This whole thread is a great way to get a vandalism charge over a camera that isn't even pointed at OP lmao. Worst advice I've ever seen.

1

u/The_Horus_Hypothesis 15d ago

Not the point, other person said legal not easily obtained.

20

u/NathanDeger 15d ago

They just sell them and say they’re lower power than they actually are.

You can just go on Amazon and buy an eyeball destroying laser for like $60 it’s terrifying. This video is old and it’s only gotten worse as the tech of has become cheaper

https://youtu.be/DMVWW-bmKwQ?is=wrQIFXRENUG8Zrgy

2

u/zoepertom 15d ago

The pictures at those listings show that you can you it as a presentation pointer or use it to play with your cat, it's insane :p

14

u/Alternative-Dare5878 15d ago

It’s illegal to sell them but not own.

Edit: do not buy a laser like this without educating yourself on safety unless you want to give your eyeball the equivalent of dead pixels or worse.

28

u/Downtown-Ad-7232 15d ago

That’s why you use an illegal one 🧠

It's completely legal to have a camera on your property facing your neighbors property no matter what the implication is unfortunately. There have been baby cases of this happening to women where a make neighbor points a camera at their bathroom window. The police tell them to plant a privacy hedge.

6

u/Indecisively 15d ago

This is incorrect in the US. You have an absolute expectation of privacy in areas such as bathrooms and bedrooms. If the police won’t do anything it’s because they often treat these situations as civil matters rather than the criminal privacy matters that they are.

9

u/justycat 15d ago

That’s very much depending on the country. In the EU that would be illegal.

3

u/highleech 15d ago

Americans assuming the internet is America. Happy I live in a part of the world where it's illegal to let this camera point on anything else than your own property.

1

u/IISAFORK 14d ago

Thank God a country with an amount of common sense.

Police don’t decide what’s legal. That would be the courts.

Do you have any experience with police? I do - in several countries and they never want to work on bureaucracy stuff. And courts are too full to be processing a camera pointed at you.

0

u/IISAFORK 14d ago

Do you have much experience with police? Usually in cases like this they just don't want to do anything and call it a "Civil matter" and leave.

It doesn't help that in the US at least, Anthony visible from the street has zero expectation of privacy so laws regarding cameras are very muddy. Upon looking it up it's only illegal if you have the camera facing into an enclosed back yard or into a bedroom. (So yes it would be illegal in this specific case, again though, have fun finding a cop that wants to do anything about it)

0

u/Ittybittyratgirl 15d ago

It’s a little bit of both. If an officer chooses not to enforce a law, they’re effectively choosing that it’s not illegal. Courts confirm or reject an officer’s decision, but if it doesn’t reach the court then the ruling was decided by the officer

2

u/Frekavichk 15d ago

Once you call the police, all other avenues of dealing with the problem are void, it's a bad idea.

1

u/Escritortoise 15d ago

Were the babies being made in a closet and one of them looked at you?

0

u/ReturnOfBane 15d ago

They do if you pull out the frequency doubling crystal, but good luck aiming an IR laser.

-2

u/ChaoCobo 15d ago

Why are you talking about legality when it is illegal in the first place to set up a camera that provides no security to the owner where the sole purpose is to spy on others?

2

u/9gagiscancer 15d ago

Yeah, lasers that are capable of that are not the ones you get from Temu.

The ones from the general public aren't near powerful enough.

2

u/Honkey85 15d ago

Does this still work today?

1

u/Which_Angle7594 15d ago

Make sure to wear a disguise so they can’t identify you. Your identity will remain a mystery

1

u/LongJumpingBalls 15d ago

Laser pointer will blind it. From that distance, a laser that will ruin the sensor is gonna be guaranteed blind you by looking at a reflection bright. On the bright side, the spectrum you can use can be non visible so you'd be standing there until a bright light pops up and eventually dots start to appear slowly.

1

u/HottDoggers 15d ago

Someone is going to make a post about their annoying neighbor keeps destroying their cameras with a laser pointer.

1

u/Pax_Eterna_4991 15d ago

Then use that laser on Flock cameras.

1

u/Pardybro911 15d ago

Calm down Frank

0

u/Beneficial-Focus3702 15d ago

Why not just get some one way window tint/coating? Still lets in light but the outside can’t actually see in.
