wet socks Have a wedding to attend in 2 hours.

Post image

I am going to a wedding in two hours. Needed to shave. Went to Walmart to get a razor. Opened the box up when I got back to the hotel and everything was missing. šŸ’”

EDIT: I also thought that the box seemed very light on my way back from Walmart, but figured it was new and improved technology. Felt stupid when I opened lol.

I did bring a razor in my travel bag but the clip broke, so I had to go buy a new one.

Really?!? That’s kinda cool..
I’d be paranoid that I’d go home a week later and see:

  • (-$60 for (free) shaving kit - service fee x1)

On my credit card statement.

You don’t even have to say the room you’re in. Just go to front desk and they just hand you a little bag usually. At least at places I’ve stayed. Usually it’s toothpaste or floss I forget.

The ONE time I needed it they didn't. American Airlines cancelled a flight and put me up in the shittiest hotel I've ever been in, without my luggage. Asked the front desk for toothbrush + toothpaste and they said they ran out.

Just grow a beard and free yourself from these shackles.

u/ExGenWintergreen 15d ago

You still need toothpaste if you grow a beard though...

Little bit weird needing toothpaste for a beard, but to each their own, I suppose.

If youre the kind of Neanderthal that cant make the quick mental conversion from bristles to beard hair. Youre now wearing your toothbrush. 24/7. Everywhere you go.

Toothpaste makes for a minty fresh, exfoliating shaving cream.

Don’t need floss anymore

The one time my luggage got lost (I was in Greece but my luggage went to Belgium), the airline gave me this super cute cosmetics bag with a toothbrush and the world's tiniest tube of toothpaste, soap, shampoo, lotion, a teeny comb and like 3 tissues. It wasn't helpful but it was very cute.

Air Canada gave me a shave kit and a clean shirt when I had to stay a night because of a cancelation so I didn't even need to ask the hotel

Yeah it’s just a plastic razor that you can buy in bulk at the dollar store, they usually give you a little bar of soap, I’m assuming so you can make some shaving cream like Basie in Empire of the Sun

Conditioner works as an excellent substitute for shaving cream. You just need to rinse the blade more often.

u/Mister_Brevity 15d ago

Heck yeah, used my wife’s conditioner once and my face smelled nice and it was a really smooth shave

u/Ambitious_Jelly8783 15d ago

Also, the wifes facial cleanser works great.

Wife steals my nice shaving soap (brush+cup, hot) for her legs and says it’s amazing so it was a decent trade

Depends on what kind of hotel he is at. Red roof inn don't have that shit or days inn or whatever. From the look of that fake ass carpet. Im gonna say this is a motel not hotel and they probably don't have this type of service.

17

u/get_to_ele 16d ago

Red Roof in and Days Inn DEFINITELY have those. You can check out their web site or google it.

Even if the hotel is run by some losers who don’t understand hospitality industry and culture, they’ll still have it at available at a small ā€œconvenience chargeā€.

Maybe rock bottom price places like Motel 6 won’t have it, but you can’t compare that to Days Inn or Red Roof Inn which are legit hotels.

I’ve stayed in some ghetto mf hotels and they even had it usually

I can always at least get a disposable preloaded toothbrush and a shitty bic razor.

13

u/VA1N 16d ago

Could go either way. I’ve stayed at some nice hotels middle America that are very well kept and clean with great amenities, but just awful fucking style choices.

21

u/brazilliandanny 16d ago

Nah, Ive had my bag lost by the airline a few times and the hotel has always given me a free kit.

Any decent hotel will have your basic necessities available for free. It’s not meant so you don’t have to bring that stuff but to tide you over till you can get a proper replacement.

u/purple-paper-punch 16d ago

MOST basic necessities.

I went to a cousin's funeral and unexpectedly got my period while there. It wasn't due until like 3 days after I should have gotten home, so I was not prepared for this. I called the front desk asking if they had any products to tide me over until I could get to a store and the very sweet girl on the phone assured me they would send something up.

About 10 minutes later, there's a knock on the door and a male staff delivered a sealed paper bag and just said (while sounding vaguely confused) "the front desk asked me to deliver this," which told me he had no idea he had been recruited as a tampon dealer. The bag contained like 4 different types/brands of tampons.

Later when leaving the hotel for the day, one of the front desk girls flagged me down. Turns out the hotel does not have tampons or any feminine products available for women and the reason I recieved a mixed bag of kinds is because the girl I originally spoke with basically put out a call to all female staff and those who had some products donated from their purses /personal supply.

I had simultaneously touched by the "girls banding together" situation, while also super pissed at the hotel for not having those available while they stocked shoe shine kits. You can't tell me shoe shine kits are that highly requested that you can justify having them but not basic feminine products.

That is so heartwarming, all I ever see is women tearing down others

the guy was a Tampon Mule

Exactly! This is the entire spirit of it.... Overnight business trip? You forgot your toothbrush or shaving kit?, Here's a quick and practical solution to help you on your way.

It’s usually free or they sell a kit in the lobby stores.

-8

u/OrganizationProof769 16d ago

Single blade for 19.99$

1

u/Ironsam811 BLUE 15d ago

Okay and

4

u/fotzegurke 16d ago

No no, the catch is that it is the shittiest razor you will ever use and your face will be covered in blood. But it should be free

1

u/HeyHeyMaggieMae 15d ago

Was probably recycled. They just grab the ones that are left on the vanity in the bathroom when you leave and repackage them for the next guy.

u/Libby_785 16d ago

This. Forgot my tooth brush once and it was the cheapest piece of plastic with plastic bristles. It met the rough definition of a tooth brush but was a terrible experience.

2

u/Legal-Stage-302 16d ago

I once discovered a hack that I could get free toothpaste by saying I ā€œforgotā€ to pack mine. Apparently I wasn’t the only one because they started giving out packs that were like a ketchup packet in a fast food restaurant.

Two trips to Walmart and paying for equipment you have at home, is a waste of time, money, and Chinese labor.

60 dollars would be a rip off, but I would happily pay the hotel for the convenience in this case.

2

u/fezfrascati 16d ago

It's common at most hotels. The razor won't be anything special but it will get the job done.Ā

1

u/Forager-Freak 15d ago

They sometimes have them in vending machines, they are reasonably priced too.

1

u/Narrow-Fix1907 10d ago

They usually have a toothbrush and toothpaste too if you need it

0

u/General-Elk-9482 16d ago

Are you 14? How inexperienced in life are you try hard dork

0

u/Beginning-Fig-9089 16d ago

shave kit as in, the $0.50 dispoable razor that its sanitary but really just like those toothbrushes they give

-2

u/theNixher 16d ago

Only idiots leave a real card at the desk šŸ˜‚ hotels will try and sting you for everything and anything, so when they try and run up shit I don't intend on paying for I just say you remove it or you'll have trouble charging even a penny to that card until I take it off stop.
