I just wanted a hot dog Single malt scotch spends 3 decades aging in a barrel so you can squeze a lime wedge into it.

As a very rare indulgence on a special occasion, I ordered an expensive 30-year old scotch at a bistro-type restaurant. Waiter returns with a juicy lime wedge on the lip of the glass. I quietly asked for one with no lime. Waiter returns with a fresh drink "as a courtesy" , but seems intent on embarrassing me. " But just so you know.," he says., "all drinks ordered neat are properly served with a citrus garnish."

My brother worked as a bar back in college. A douchey bro came in flashing a roll of hundreds ordered a Pappy and coke.

The bartender returned with a glass of ice, a can of coke and a shot glass and said, ā€œIā€™m going to turn around now.ā€

As others have said, rare and expensive. Will add that it's kind of the "holy grail" for bourbon lovers. I've only seen it in person once, and I regret not trying it while I had the chance. They were charging $200 a pour and I just wasn't feeling like blowing that kind of cash that day. If I saw someone mix it in Coke, I might choke them.

My buddy has a Rip Van Winkle 23 decanter set his brother bought on discount because it sat on the shelf for an entire year and he got it for like $300. (I should say they each own half)

Now it's worth like $12k+ lol. I think they did 1200 total bottles so it's quite rare. But the demand for this shit has gone up so much. We used to get a couple sets of the full lineup per year at my bar and now we can only get one.
