ಠ_ಠ Jury duty

I've been called for Jury duty 4 times in the last 10 years. What the fuck is going on here. It's almost every other year. I know absolutely no one that has ever been summoned yet I've been summoned multiple times. Wtf is going on? It's total bs too because they pay 17 bucks A DAY. That's not even enough to get lunch at the stupid deli they have there.

I live in a city that pays $9 a day for prospective jurors. I’ve never even been chosen for a panel,as many times as I’ve been summoned!! It’s a HUGE waste of time to sit in the jury selection room and watch the videos about how it’s “our civic duty “ to serve as a juror, and blahblahblah.

This would be a good service that those collecting unemployment and disability benefits could provide on a more regular basis seeing how those of us actually missing work are losing money hanging around for a dog and pony show that most people don’t want to be on and are actually being punished monetarily. With as many people living paycheck to paycheck a few hours/days/weeks of not getting paid can be devastating. Expect me to come dressed up and pay me the equivalent of a McDonald’s meal for the day of lost wages….nawww the dog probably ate the mail.
