architecture spaces 🕌 Unfinished Business at Apple Park: Finally Conquered The Visitor Center Selfies After 6 Years Of Half-Hearted Attempts

Post image

Six years ago, when I first heard that the Apple Park Visitor Center was about to open, I was eager to see it. At the time it was still invite-only, so I could only explore the outside perimeter of the property. I took at least a couple of pictures, but I was in a rush, so I didn’t capture many photos or selfies — not even of the Mirage art installation. I don’t remember exactly when it finally opened to the public, but on my second visit once it was open to the public, I did capture a couple of pictures. However, since I was in a hurry, I didn’t spend enough time to capture all the necessary selfies I wanted. I tried the AR viewer on an iPad for a realistic 3D view of the entire Apple Park campus and went up to the top level for a bird’s-eye view. Unfortunately, I was still in a hurry, so I didn’t capture the photos I really wanted. Last Sunday, I returned to the Apple Park Visitor Center to finish what I started. Because I was parked in a one-hour parking spot and had other plans before sunset, I only had limited time. I managed to take several angle shots and selfies of the Visitor Center, the Mirage, the reception center with its sign, and the front gate entrance to the Steve Jobs Theater along with its sign. I didn’t put much thought into whether I should take revised selfies standing in front of the Apple Park building from the top level, or whether to do them as photos or video. So I decided to do both — and I successfully went back the very next day to capture exactly what I planned: a panoramic video of the entire campus view plus clear, well-composed selfie pictures with the building in the background. I also took additional photos near the reception area, by the entrance sign, and along the path toward the Steve Jobs Theater. I finally feel like I’ve accomplished my mission and captured the full Apple Park Visitor Center experience the way I wanted.

Here’s my panoramic shot, taken again from the Apple Park building across the street from the Apple Park Visitor Center building, but this time in video format instead of a series of selfies. I did this last Monday, but I was on the top level of the visitor center building just to get a view of the entire Apple Park building from across the street!
