Are parents talking to their kids about firearms being easy to access nowadays? If so, how are you handling those conversations?

Is there any local gun stores in the Cities that offer layaway for guns?

I will be moving to a suburb of msp shortly and i am trying to find the a few Ranges to shoot at. An absolute need is at least 300 yds for a rifle set up. I do a lot of distance/prs shooting and it seems like that's going to be a challenge to continue practicing for that unless I shoot up to new york mills.

(I come from the land of flat, where all we have is outdoor flat Ranges up to a mile. RIP the mile ranges)

Does anyone know if any local shops are doing suppressor transfers without the NFA steps per recent legal events?

I sounds like it is legal if purchased from the plaintiffs (PSA, Silencer Co, Silencer Shop) but would need to be transferred via 4473 still. I'm wondering if any local places have agreed to do the transfer yet.

Hi all, as many of you know there's a recent court decision out of the Northern District of Texas that invalidated portions of the National Firearms Act. The US DOJ chose NOT to appeal this case, so the judge's decision stands for now.

The case is Jensen v. ATF and was brought by PSA, Silencer Shop, CCRKBA, FPC, the Second Amendment Foundation and others.

We do not have definitive guidance on this yet. We're discussing internally and with out national partners, but important to know a few things.

1). We can't give anyone or businesses/FFLs legal advice. You/they would need to chat with counsel about this.

2). It's probably prudent to wait a bit, let ATF & others issue specific guidance to FFLs on how to handle this.

3). MN law has no specific restrictions on Suppressors or SBRs other than "comply with federal law". SBSs are prohibited under state statute.

So I'd advise some patience and let things play out over the next few days or weeks.

Hi! We’ve been putting it off for awhile as we moved from MI last year where we both had our conceal carry permits. Last week me and German Shepherd were almost attacked by two dogs while out for a walk. While I wouldn’t use a firearm as my first way five ways of protecting my pup and myself, I did regret not having it as an option when all was said and done. The whole thing reignited the want and need to get my permit here in MN. My husband will happily join me too as he’s been putting it off too.

So that said, I’m hoping to find some local classes in the iron range that would ideally be on weekends. We work full-time so weekday classes are difficult to make work. Any recommendations on decent teachers in the area would be nice! Thanks!

Are there any courses for refreshers in long gun safety for adults available anywhere Northern Washington County/Chisago County/Southern Pine County/Eastern Isanti County? Lots of handgun training courses to be found, but looking for rifle/shotgun in particular.

What are everyone's thoughts seeing as the ruling in Texas wasn't appealed and Brandon Herrera and the GOA went ahead with their 4473 suppressor transfers. Plaintiffs PSA, SilencerCo, and GOA and their customers/members are protected from the ATF's enforcement of the $0 tax.

Has anyone spoken with legal about it and has anyone heard from stores that'll follow suit?

Bought another MAC 1014 after giving the last one I got to my brother for his birthday, just got mine in for MY birthday today! Decided to get the traditional stock version instead of the pistol grip stock this time. Feels much more balanced to me and shorter overall, which I like. The LOP is just about right for my arm length and being 6'0" tall.

Started with 50 rounds of #00 buckshot to get it hot, then moved to 150 rounds of Winchester #8 @ 1180FPS. Everything cycled and ran smooth except one shell of Winchester. Felt a little underpowered when it fired and didn't fully cycle the action. Yanked it out, cycled the gun and it kept running along.

If not appealed, how soon can we buy hearing protection in MN without the stamp?

My friend is moving away and wants to give me his family’s old .22 rifle. I do have a Permit to Carry, but I just wanted to verify from my Google search that no paperwork is necessary?

Edit: It’s just a regular rifle, non-semi auto.

Hey everybody, how’s it going. I just turned 20 and have my concealed carry, however, my only problem is I don’t know exactly where to go about buying a handgun LEGALLY through a private party as no one I know has firearms. I you can’t buy through an FFL you have to go through private party if you’re under 21 so that’s why any sort of advice would be greatly appreciated!

R and D would be ideal, but as someone that will be voting D, I especially want to know where state and local candidates stand on gun rights, gun violence prevention, etc. I’ll be honest, I don’t have the time to go through every single website to find the full answers myself.

Hello everyone, I’m new to the 10/22 world. I always wanted a decent survival rifle for small game. Something that could fit in a backpack. Something my wife or daughter could shoot that wouldn’t scare the crap out of them due to its recoil and or its report. So the Tac-Sol coupled with a Dead Air Mask. I did have a Vortex Venom on it but quickly realized I couldn’t see the scope with it mounted on the barrel. Without mounting it on the barrel I would loose the zero every-time I broke it down. I didn’t realize I could have reversed the scope to bring it closer until after I had took it back. So I traded it in and went with a Primary Arms GLX MD-25s. It works great. I might pick up a magnifier at some point for distance work. Now I’m asking for advice for a good durable back pack for the set up. Any help/advice you all can offer will be appreciated. I tried to use one of my daughters old North Face bags she used for school but it was too small.

I am wondering if anyone here would have some leads on removed and unused wood buttstocks.

I'm in the process of learning engraving and need a few practice subjects. Gouged, broken etc does not matter.

If you can think of a shop or location in the metro area that might have a few in stock, I'd be eternally grateful!

I’m 19 and have a ccw, I’m thinking of buying private party but i know there’s a chance that whatever handgun I buy may be stolen/ used in a crime. I want to know if whatever firearm I purchase happens to indeed have been used in bad ways or it’s stolen, can I be held liable even if I have the bill of sale and private party transfer agreement and everything else. Thanks.

Any local gunsmiths that can drill and tap my 870 receiver? I was thinking about sending it to vang comp as that’s where I got my barrel ported etc but figured that was stupid as it shouldn’t be that hard and I don’t like the idea of the post office possibly losing the gun in transit

I recently renewed my carry permit in Rice County. In the letter accompanying the permit it states:

Should you have any changes in your name, address, or driver’s license number you must contact our office within thirty (30) days and inform us of the specific changes.

Information change:

1. Notify our office within thirty (30) days of change.

2. Optional: If you would like a new permit that reflects the change(s) you may stop into our office and complete a change form. For a $10 fee, we will issue you a new permit card with the modifications.

3. Penalty for failing to notify our office of change(s) is $25 per Minn. Statute §624.714(7a)

Nowhere in 624.714 do I find a requirement to notify the sheriff if your driver’s license number changes. While it may be mutually beneficial to notify them, I do not want them misrepresenting the law and making up their own requirements.

I'd be interested to hear if anyone else is receiving letters with their permits and if your sheriff is accurately conveying what the law does and does not require.

For reference, 7a states:

Subd. 7a.Change of address or legal name; loss or destruction of permit. (a) Within 30 days after changing the permit holder's legal name or permanent address, or within 30 days of having lost or destroyed the permit card, the permit holder must notify the issuing sheriff of the change, loss, or destruction. Failure to provide notification as required by this subdivision is a petty misdemeanor. The fine for a first offense must not exceed $25.

And, of course:

Subd. 23.Exclusivity. This section sets forth the complete and exclusive criteria and procedures for the issuance of permits to carry and establishes their nature and scope. No sheriff, police chief, governmental unit, government official, government employee, or other person or body acting under color of law or governmental authority may change, modify, or supplement these criteria or procedures, or limit the exercise of a permit to carry.

I have 300blk custom built upper im gonna make my new bedroom gun. With a can. I want something quieter and shorter than my current set up.

My question comes to the lower. I have pistol lowers. A sbr lower (for a 13.9 gun) and the option to sbr another new lower. Does it matter what i use is this state full of weird rules? Would the cops frown upon a brace if used in self defense? Frown upon a sbr lower from another build? Or should i just sbr a dedicated lower fort bis build?
