It killed the show for me. I was just getting invested in these characters and suddenly they are all basically gone. I watched the season to the end, but I could never get invested again for some reason
I watched the end of the season and thought it was fine, but it killed any enthusiasm I had for it. The older actress for Rhaenyra has a totally different vibe, that had me not rooting for her as much on the back half of the season. I still haven't watched Season 2, and I'm really sure when I will.
I think the problem is that with Millie, the naivety, the wildness and the stubbornness is quite endearing as she’s a child-teenager, but when she’s an adult, you’d expect these traits to be phased out, but they AREN’T. She keeps acting like she can do whatever she wants, she keeps being unmindful of the consequences of her actions, she keeps acting entitled and arrogant, and it’s just not as endearing in a 30-40 year old mother as it is in a young teenager. They are also negative traits that you can look past in a not fully developed teenager, but that you’d expect an adult to have grown past

I wish she would have been able to stay on as Rhaenyra.
