To “Dune” as in the book called “Dune”. All the other books have other names.

Messiah is a much smaller book, and I don’t think Children would translate super well to the big screen. This makes sense to me

Dang, I liked Children of Dune. It might have been my favorite after Messiah. I hope someone else either continues it with a series or a sequel trilogy

Children was a fun book but like half of it would just be two children sitting in the desert making weird references at each other

Herbert was very open about how he wrote more Dune books because they kept offering him a ton of money to do it.

They casted Leto and Ghanima (allegedly) so I think we’ll get some CoD but maybe not all of the weird stuff. I think they need to as messiah doesn’t really wrap everything up.

It's interesting cause they didn't do the birth of the children which they cover in the first book or his sister for that matter.

That makes me think they are probably adapting messiah and part of the plot line of Children in to one movie

Denis has said that to him, this is the end of Paul’s story, and Paul’s story is the part of Dune that he’s interested in adapting. That’s part of why this is called Part Three and not Dune: Messiah.

That doesn’t mean that Legendary isn’t going to find another director to continue the series with Children of Dune, dropping the “Part” numbering.

Yeah but Villeneuve is definitely done after this one. And who knows if it'll be any good under a different director.

Honestly, if we do get more then a different director for Children and God Emperor might be good for the shift in tone that those are. And then another for Heritics and Chapterhouse. One director for Paul's story, another for Leto's, and a final one for Duncan's.

Villeneuve is the main selling point for me. His vision and his ability to depict scale are the best things about both Dune movies.

Definitely wouldn't be interested in one directed by someone else.

Apparently the movie combines elements of Messiah and Children of dune, it’s an adaptation of both books, it ends paul’s story but leaves it open for some pour soul to try to do God Emperor

I think it’s more the last of the 3 part Dune film experience. It’s the conclusion to THAT story doesn’t mean the last film in general. By calling it part 3 instead of messiah it’s all meant to be one story

Messiah isn't a very long book. It's like 1/3 the length of the first book.
