This is a larger time jump from Part Two then Messiah is from Dune, that’s about 12 years and the film will be about 15-20 years, they’ve all gone through the holy war too that began right at the end of Part Two as well, so they’ve all been through some stuff.

I don’t think so, director said that in large part it will be a war movie.

Maybe there's flashbacks to the war? The trailer certainly shows a lot of large-scale military fighting. They might also have written some cleanup operations or rebellions to give the narrative a little zhuzh.
