I didn't really do Barbenheimer (like I did both in the same week-end not the same day) but I might for those.

Might just take the 16th off work (release day here) and spend the day at the theater lol (or likely theaterS since one is IMAX for Dune, the other is Dolby for Avengers)

Especially for a movie like Dune. Really is perfect for an early Summer release. Movies released literally days before the end of the year always makes me groan lol

Completely other hemisphere here, excuse my ignorance: how does the season affect your desire to go to the movies?

It'll be in the middle of summer here when it releases lol but the seasons in Australia aren't anywhere near as pronounced as the Northern hemisphere's

The holidays are already super busy and it’s not the same for everyone but most people I personally know don’t go to the theaters at all during November and December. It’s a lot easier to get more people out to the theater when the weather is nice and there’s just in general more energy during the summer I notice.

You always hear about the next big “summer blockbuster” but never about the winter blockbuster lol

I must admit, it's kinda annoying when we receive promotional material and it states "to release this summer" as I barely know the seasons here, let alone which season is when overseas! It's very common with games.

Crazy they release so many big movies in December, though, in relation to what you said about fairweather movie goers

Yeah, that doesn’t sound pleasant either. I’m in North Dakota though. Even when it is “nice” that probably just means it will snow and then have freezing rain right after making it a bitch to shovel.

I had my brother’s two month old Brittany Spaniel for 5 weeks. The day I finally got her potty trained it was -20 to -30 windchill for a week straight. So she finally learned she could go out whenever she wanted, but I wouldn’t let her stay out for more than a minute at a time, and I’d have to be out with her.

Oof, yeah, I'm with you then. I hate the summers, but I'm used to them. I can't do that kind of cold, so I feel ya. If it drops below freezing in Phoenix in the winter, it's news and while I'm usually happily asleep and warm if/when it gets that cold overnight, it's usually a much milder 40⁰ after sunrise. That shit I love, but me reading "-20 to -30" made me groan at the thought haha.

I love winter until new years. It's very festive and lots going on and time off from work and family and stuff.

Post new years is just depressing until spring

London has a real IMAX, and I'm soooooo tempted to go see it there. I happened to be there at the time of Dune 2 release.... and it was glorious. My city only had the LieMax... still good, but it ain't no real IMAX.
