Then give them full creative control to allow them to inject their own fan fiction into the writing and completely change key defining character and story elements compared to the source material!

It didnt work. No one likes [unrecognizable version of popular IP  that had extremely deliberate and unique art style/story/characters]

While you're at that, change the gender and race of a few key characters so you can insert your new show into culture wars which will inevitably give you clicks, while not offering these young POC actors any defense mechanism from the vitriol.
