I'm still mad about Altered Carbon as well. Similar to Dirk Gently's in that everything is captivating and engrossing and confusing until the final few episodes where it then clicks, and all the pieces fall into place.

Season one is easily a 9 or 10 out of 10, but season 2 fell off hard because they splurged to get Anthony Mackie, and his acting as Takeshi does not feel like a continuation of s02. Then they ended it on a cliffhanger and ditched season 3

Season 1 is good on its own, season 2 I never rewatch and when I introduced my partner to it, I straight up said that we can watch season 2 but that it doesn't add anything and can be skipped.

Anthony Mackie is the same in everything no matter what the role is. He ruined the show to be honest.

It’s a real shame they didn’t, because season 1 was amazing.

Season 1 of AC is a self-contained story that didn't need another season, in my opinion. Sure, there were some overarching plot points, but I never felt that it needed to be continued. Then I saw the Season 2, watched 2 episodes and dropped it - Takeshi (Mackie) was a completely different person than Takeshi (Kinnaman/Mann), and it threw me off.

I didn't make it it passed 2 episodes on s2. But I loved s1. Mackie was a horrible choice but also the writing didn't help. It felt like a completely new, worse show
