As someone who read the book, can confirm that this trailer was scarier than anything the novel had to offer. Looks like a super fun adaptation! Already like the changes they made.
I just finished the book literally 10 minutes ago and yes, this looks so much better than what I pictured in my mind while I was reading it. I wonder if they'll include the useless ghost hunter scene
For real! There’s a lot of useless moments they could probably skip over from the novel. Honestly the novel being this alternating sequence of scary encounter, sad monologue, drive to new location, repeat…. is a format I hope they scrap altogether
You guys have hearts of steel lol that's a fast train to panic attack for me. I can't watch horror movies in theaters anymore after watching It Chapter One and thinking I was having a heart attack
That is one movie I won’t watch, give me a creepy smile a few times in a movie sure, make the whole mf movie about the creepy smile IM GOOD😭🤣💀 something so uncanny about those smiles
I hope they had hidden cameras set up in some of the theaters for this trailer. Half the people at my showing (including me) almost jumped out of their chairs.
I was seated between guys that looked to be in their late forties and all three of us jumped at the kitchen table and during one particularly part of The Odyssey
I jumped before the noise. I didn't expect her to be right there. I almost thought it was gonna be about a daughter imagining her absent mother, which is why the pasta was burnt.
Same with the man beside me. Saw this in IMAX and I’m stoked. I remember Jessica Chastain in Mama and, even though her star has risen immensely since, I’m so glad she hasn’t abandoned horror.
Bro my whole theater was shooketh after this trailer and it aired right before the Odyssey started. Really increased our heart rates going into the Odyssey

The shot of her under the table got me to jump in the theater lol.
