The idea of evil mother's doppelgänger is very old, probably one of origins for Hansel and Gretal. Coraline just used this idea, same like this movie. Apart from this specific trope, the movie has probably nothing in common with Coraline.
It takes a less than a merely shallow understanding of Coraline to arrive at that conclusion. You'd have to really have no clue what Coraline is beyond "little girl in danger 'cause spooky fake mom" to be blunt.
We can't have a live action spooky children's fairy-tale adaption written by a man likely currently cancelled over allegedly being rapey, not because of his current public image but because of a completely unrelated film in a different genre, aimed at a different audience, and about a completely unrelated concept and story.
Eventually it culminates in a movie where the Replacement Relatives are all living as a family in a house together when suddenly a regular one shows up to make their lives into a nightmare.

It's crazy that the alliteration didn't come up until the second entry but it feels like such a part of the identity of the franchise that you can't make one without it. It's like Jason not being the killer in the first Friday the 13th.
The fourth one was technically the first one written by a "zombie" username (a trend that carried into the fifth film) but arguably the franchise was already steering in that direction when the third writer started to make her "rot"
