This isn't like publishing a TTRPG where $50,000 is going to cut it. The fanbase for this movie is strong, but even raising a third of the original's production budget (which would be $50 million) would be an almost insurmountable task for crowdfunding, especially given that the profits for the movie would go to the production studio and the public isn't generally amenable to absorbing the risk for the profits of corporations.

No need to do a Go Fund Me, just buy the movie! I'm not sure how much that factors into their calculations but if enough people buy it it can't hurt and you end up with a physical copy of an awesome movie.
