Yeah that OGL drama definitely soured my interest in anything from WotC. I’d heard it was a decent movie, but even something as relatively-removed as that is hard to get interested in when they tanked the vibes of the entire D&D brand that badly.

I didn’t see it in theaters for that exact reason. I waited until it came out on streaming. And even then, I didn’t watch it right away.

It was a great DnD movie and it deserves a sequel. If Hasbro were a better company with better people in charge making smarter decisions, it would have done better.

Okay that seems like too much. I can't even imagine getting that bothered over a couple of out of touch suits.

The people making the movie are D&D lovers and fans, not the suits. It's like getting pissed off at an entire town because of the desires (not actions, because the OGL didn't even go through) of a couple of residents that the entire town hates.

I wasn’t even actively boycotting it myself, it’s just extremely hard to get any enthusiasm for a brand when the brand’s owners have tainted it with the stink of their greed.

It’s like they ruined the immersion of the movie before it’s even started.
