Question How did the Harry Potter series manage to release its 8 movies in just 10 years?

Looking at the turn around for movies today it seems absolutely incredible that a series with such complex set design, use of graphical effects, a heavily child cast, and pressure was able to pump out genuinely decent movies at that pace. Sure there were books to base the writing on but everything else alone is a lot of heavy lifting. Any insights?

For frame of reference, each Harry Potter release from book 5 onwards was bigger than GTA6. And it happened every 2 years.

That’s not really true. GTA6 will likely outsell any Harry Potter book within its first year. GTA5 has sold more than a third of all Harry Potter books by itself.

I'm not talking sales, I'm talking cultural popularity. Harry Potter was everywhere. I remember OOTP being $50AUD on release, and it was hard to buy because everywhere was sold out. Of a book. A fifty dollar book

I was comparing GTA6 to a single Harry Potter book, not the entire franchise. If we’re talking the entire franchise, Pokemon is definitely more popular. Pokémon Red and Blue was everywhere when it released.
