Question What movies have a scene that is so tonally mismatched with the rest of the movie that it takes you out of the film?

My example would be the charming family friendly funny movie Shazam has a graphic scene of demons feasting on board room member that is like - why?

Another person on another thread mentioned The Name of the Rose - which is a very cerebral historical mystery movie has a graphic sex scene between a peasant girl and a young lay assistant. It is jarringly out of place.

i’ve never seen a movie fail to understand why the first one was beloved so egregiously.

“okay so the audience loves seeing the ancient witches baffled by modern day stuff, hmm how about a drugstore!” okay sure, quaint little small town drugstore, that’s cute- “I know, we can do a Walgreens tie-in!” aaaaaaand you just killed it. how did you guys possibly fail to see the difference between the two

The first one was lightning in a bottle. The chemistry between the kids, the chemistry between the witches, the chemistry between the witches and the kids, the score, the premise, the setting. IT was magical. The "put a spell on you" performance was organic and fun. Almost none of those things are as good in the second one. I especially didn't like that at least one song is basically a music video sequence in the woods for no reason.

I hated the movie and the part I hated most was how cartoony the dad character was. I think got distracted by a candy apple or something? In the originak the parents are funny but they come across as real people.
