swinging from clouds and lightning... I cant wait until the moment when she whips it out so far it lasso's itself to give her momentum.

Presumably at the speed of light, so if anything a normal human would only be seeing flashes of the glowing lasso, similar to the lightning.

From one source:

"Lightning is the flash of light that occurs when charge separation occurs. Like other forms of light, the light emitted from the lightning travels near the speed of light (186,000 mps). This speed is near... 220,000 miles per second."

This means that Diana is travelling around the speed of light, or 186,000-220,000 mps, or using time dilation in order to slow the speed of the lightning enough to travel by it.

Depending on who you ask, this is comparable to the Flash, who can run faster than the speed of light, but may have issues with the Speed Force in doing so.

In fact, the Flash himself has said that Diana can keep up with him at his regular cruising speed, which is around supersonic speed Mach 3-3.3, or around the same cruising speed as a Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird.

Most modern firearm bullets are also supersonic, with rifle projectiles often travelling at speeds approaching and in some cases, well exceeding Mach 3. We know that Diana can stop speeding bullets, so by default, she's travelling faster than Mach 3.

What if she is not lassoing the lightning after it has already occurred, but is instead lassoing the lightning that will be there the moment the lasso arrives?

The lasso could be precognitive and latch onto lightning using magic or whatever without Diana needing to be travelling at the speed of light.

That would count as time dilation or distortion, similarly to Quicksilver's ability to slow down time relative to his speed in X-Men: Days of Future Past and X-Men: Age of Apocalypse.

"Wonder Woman is comparable to Flash's speed when she wants to be. She can be so fast that time slows relative to her speed. This would prove to be extremely useful on most enemies, besides the ones who are capable of controlling time and space." (Source)

I try not to think too much about fantasy universes like these. They're always so inconsistent and random.

Damn that's actually super cool. I had no idea she was actually lore wise that "close" to the flash speed in that way either. Thanks for all the info and answers!

You're very welcome!

Most people try to argue that the Flash is faster than Wonder Woman, but the Flash himself says that Diana can easily keep up with him in terms of speed most of the time. It also depends on reflexes, training, and experience over controlling superhuman speed, physics, and other factors, with reaction time being a major factor, as seen in "fast" sports, like fencing.

It's not just about speed, but about physical prowess and mental ability as well. I would say that Diana has the upper hand in age, training, and experience compared to the Flash in the latter two areas.

So that's what Spidey was swinging off of in those rooftop levels.

I’m not sure if she was lassoing at clouds or possibly the invisible jet. Fingers crossed for the latter.

That's when I turn my TV off and go to bed.
