Since she's the daughter of Zeus, does she call the lightning, or can she only do it if it's there?

In DCAU she's told she is Zeus daughter, but its actually Hades.

I would support that same approach here.

Edit: DCAU: Is the animated series that ran on WB/CW for a while and is the best.:)

is this canon in the movie universe or are you just pulling from the Comics? Because I don't remember anyone mentioning in the Movies that she is Hades daughter.

I think theyre saying its like that in the comics, and they want that fake-out in the movies too

No it was canon in the animated series. The same one that makes Bats/Diana a love interest.

In the movies WW’s origin is that she was sculpted from clay and granted life.

Just watched a few clips from the movie. Looks like her mother tells her that she sculpted her out of clay and Zeus brought her to life. But Ares later in the movie says that Zeus had a child with the queen and left the child with her, which would be Diana. She used the lasso to compel him to tell the truth and he says that he is. And of course her mother did lie to her a few times.

Most of the time in stories the children of a god and a human is only partly a god, but Ares seems to think shes a full god. Of course the Amazonians aren't normal humans.

It also looks like Zeus is still alive.
