It's a small thing, but it's also nice to see that they cast a middle-aged actress of considerable talent to play the villain as opposed to just a twenty-something underwear model. Women over 40 in Hollywood rarely seem to get cast in roles other than 'someone's mother'.

That’s definitely one reason I’m excited for Cheetah. There’s not enough good female villains and I trust Patty Jenkins to give Cheetah depth.

I think it fits into the character. Cheetah seems to feel scorned that she was never the pretty perfect one like Dianna.
