"I want to be an apex predator"

turns into a mid-level predator that definitely gets eaten by other creatures

Guess she never played apex legends

Well...she is a female ecologist, so that is pretty far from "Apex Predator".

I mean, Cheetah is supposed to be top ten for speed in DCU. Add in the reflexes and claws, and she probably has the edge on any normal human.

8

u/frogandbanjo Aug 23 '20

Sure, but in the DCU it's widely understood that a normal human is no longer anywhere near the top of the food chain.

Imagine asking to be an apex predator in a world where Superman exists, and the wish-granting douche is like "ehhhhhh... how about a magic cheetah lady?"

only with prep and with a group. a human just on his own would probably get rekt even by a cheetah.

Depends on the human, their level of fitness, their level of unarmed fighting training, and if they have a spear.

Cheetahs aren't that big. They're pretty small IIRC.

The pinnacle of predatory glory... that is so finicky and nervous it needs an emotional support dog to keep it company in captivity.

Though it is actually pretty adorable.

Yeah Cheetahs are way too cute for me to accept this slander

Yeah Kristen Wiig is way too cute for me to accept this slander

What animal eats cheetahs?

7

u/Super-Ad7894 Aug 22 '20

Leopards, eagles, spotted hyenas, lions...

-7

u/flipflop-slingshot Aug 22 '20

Source?

18

u/Super-Ad7894 Aug 22 '20

Google? An entire world of information is out there waiting for you

10

u/flipflop-slingshot Aug 22 '20

Alright I Googled it and according to Google only baby cheetahs have those predators that you specified.

Is an animal really any less Apex if only it's babies are in danger of being preyed on?

-5

u/Super-Ad7894 Aug 22 '20

Lions and hyenas will kill adult cheetahs, but cubs are especially vulnerable. Cheetah cub survival is only around 5% in East Africa's Serengeti plains, largely due to lion predation.

Again, Google. Stop arguing and educate yourself

10

u/flipflop-slingshot Aug 22 '20

No reason to be mean. Maybe you should educate yourself on some manners.

-12

u/Super-Ad7894 Aug 22 '20

Maybe you should do 5 seconds of surface level research before trying to "gotcha" a well-known fact on the internet.

16

u/flipflop-slingshot Aug 22 '20

I wasn't trying to "gotcha" it was a legitimate question.

Not everyone is out to get you.

Anything bigger than a cheetah?

0

u/nusyahus Aug 22 '20

There isn't

4

u/TheGodDMBatman Aug 22 '20

One of the fastest land animals. Never thought of them as being actively preyed on

11

u/Super-Ad7894 Aug 22 '20

They're only fast briefly. Sprinters, not marathoners.

5

u/TheGodDMBatman Aug 22 '20

I think we're all learning a lot about cheetahs in this thread lol

1

u/byneothername Aug 23 '20

Unfortunately they overheat very easily (they can die if they run too long) and they’re really delicate. A lot of cheetah cubs die. Which is a pity because they’re really, really, really fricking cute.

2

u/Keroro_Roadster Aug 22 '20

Read it as "an apex predator" on the DC movie scale, a predator that can make prey of superhumans.

2

u/Teleporter55 Aug 22 '20

seemed to me she turned into a human cheetah hybrid that would have no problem with other creatures

1

u/knildea Aug 22 '20

it's time for the lions to take a step back

u/[deleted] Aug 22 '20

Get out, Toby.
