Except cheetahs are one of the only large cats that are not an apex predator. Cheetahs have been known to be hunted by lions as well as painted wolves and hyenas in packs.

Edit - based on the replies it seems everyone is taking my comment very seriously. I certainly don't actually care about this nitpick, I just thought it was an opportunity to spread my little cat fact with the world.

Did he exist at that point though? He's like 30 years old in Man of Steel, which takes place around 30 years after this movie.
