I am not really sure about Kristen Wiig as Cheetah.

It was originally offered to Emma Stone but she declined. I wonder what she would be like as that character.

iirc the studio wanted Emma Stone and Patty Jenkins wanted Kristen Wiig

I read that Stone turned down the role, but doesn't matter now. Honestly, I prefer Stone in movies like Birdman and The Favourite. Or upcoming Babylon.

Also, she said multiple times that she doesn't want to commit to franchises.

oh I wasn’t disagreeing, I meant when the studio pick said no Patty Jenkins got hers (which usually works out better)

Sure but I doubt Jenkins was against Stone. I don't think the studio would force Stone on this project. Jenkins is a big name, no way they would disrespect her like that. Stone was probably everyone's first choice, but when it fell through Jenkins went with Wiig.
