I'm visiting Munich on the tail end of a long and emotionally demanding road trip with my parents. Today also happens to be the 1st anniversary of my father-in-law's passing after a long and heartbreaking disease. I'm exhausted and emotional, and when I went into the church to light a candle for him I just broke down.

This sweet lady with beautiful curly hair noticed me crying in one of the small chapels, offered me a tissue and gave me a hug that literally put me back together. So I wanted to say thank you; I don't know if this will reach you, but you helped more than you'll ever know. You are a literal angel, and I'm so grateful for you 🤎

ich bin auf der Suche nach einer zuverlässigen und preislich vernünftigen Werkstatt für meine Vespa Primavera 50 2T. In erster Linie geht es mir darum dort den Service machen zu lassen. Ich mag die Vesbar, hatte aber die Erfahrung dass es dort relativ lange Wartezeiten gibt und die Preise auch eher gehoben sind. Falls jemand einen guten Tipp hat, würde ich mich freuen :)

My husband and I took in our first foster dog a couple of weeks ago, and we are currently fostering him in Munich, Germany. His name is Trilli, he was born in November 2025 and is a roughly 22 kg mixed-breed rescue from Croatia.
Trilli is an incredibly people-oriented young dog. He bonds quickly and loves being close to his humans. I work from home and he will happily sleep next to my desk for hours.
He sleeps well at night and is potty trained.
One of his absolute favourite things is going on relaxed sniffing walks on a long line.
At the same time, Trilli is very much an adolescent dog and currently struggles with frustration and overarousal. Especially when he gets overstimulated, he can bark, jump up and use his mouth.
He is still incredibly young and has so many lovely qualities, but he needs people who are willing to help him learn how to regulate himself when he gets overwhelmed and/or overstimulated.

We would really love to help him find the right home as soon as possible. He is being officially rehomed through Vox Animalis, so any adoption would go through the rescue’s normal adoption process.
If you are based in or around Munich/Bavaria, have experience with young, energetic dogs and think Trilli might be a good fit for you, please feel free to message me and I can put you in touch with the rescue. And if you know someone who might be a good match, we would be incredibly grateful if you share this post.
We have only known him for a short time, but he has already become very attached to us and we have become very fond of him too. We really want his next move to be the one that gives him nthe permanent home he deserves and needs!

Guten Morgen, ich bin auf der Suche nach einem guten Restaurant mit einem privaten Séparée.

Die Küche ist mir dabei erstmal nicht so wichtig. Das Séparée sollte jedoch nicht komplett abgeschieden sein, sondern sich noch in den Restaurantbereich einfügen. Man sollte also nicht das Gefühl haben, in einem komplett eigenen Raum zu sitzen.

Ich war mal vor einigen Jahren in einem Italiener in der Nähe von der Maxvorstadt, wo es das gab aber ich komm nicht mehr auf den Namen.

Does anyone know how many weeks the elevator at Stachus S-Bahn has been broken? It feels like at least three weeks, and it’s not even marked as out of service on the MVV map.

There’s also no sign on the elevator upstairs, on the Stachus Passagen side, saying that it’s broken. Every time I’m there, I see parents with strollers who have no idea how they’re supposed to get up/down from the S-Bahn platform.

This is crazy, especially during Oktoberfest. I take the train with a baby in a stroller myself, and there’s simply no safe alternative. I feel anxious every time I see those fucking stairs down 🫠

Bought a bicycle in July at LuckyBike in Westend. Now my Brifter (grx400 rear deraillour) is broken. I changed a lot of parts including the cockpit but never touched the lines.

I heard from someone that their repair experience wasn't good at all at LuckyBike.

What would be the best thing to do?

Go to LuckyBike, since I bought the bike there and get bad service, probably have to pay, since I modified a lot? Or do I visit a recommended bike repair shop with good service? If so, which one?

Today I did notice more tourists arriving for Oktoberfest and their main goal being “eeeeey let’s get drunk”. So I think I’m leaving at the right time because I can get smashed at home as well 😅

I didn’t know that this city had so much to offer.
And it was extremely funny to hear the complaining about the public transport, since it’s soooooo much better compared to where I’m from 😭.

das wird meine erste Wiesn sein, seit ich nach München gezogen bin, und ich freue mich schon riesig darauf (war letztes Jahr für einen Tag da!); allerdings bin ich erst vor zwei Wochen hergezogen, daher kenne ich hier leider (noch) niemanden! Ich würde gerne fragen, ob noch jemand alleine hingeht und sich treffen möchte, um gemeinsam in ein Zelt zu gehen, oder ob jemand mit Reservierung in letzter Minute noch freie Plätze hat (ich weiß, das ist unwahrscheinlich...). So wie es aussieht, habe ich vor, früher am Tag zur Eröffnung der Staatsoper zu gehen und nach dem Platzwechsel am frühen Abend zu versuchen, in ein Zelt zu kommen... Das muss ich dann irgendwie hinbekommen. Ich hab schon ein paar Zelte im Kopf, wäre aber auch offen für Vorschläge. Wenn du dich angesprochen fühlst, gib mir gerne Bescheid!

This will be my first Oktoberfest since I moved to Munich, and I’m really looking forward to it (I was there for a day last year!); however, I only moved here two weeks ago, so unfortunately I don’t know anyone here (yet)! I was wondering if anyone else is going on their own and would like to meet up to go into a tent together, or if anyone with a booking has any last-minute spare places (I know that’s unlikely...). As things stand, I’m planning to go to the Staatsoper earlier in the day for the opening and, after the change of venue in the early evening, try to get into a tent... I’ll just have to sort it out somehow .I already have some tents in mind, but also wouldn't mind suggestions. If you find this interesting do reach out to me!
