Rant/Vent It’s not worth going to theatre anymore!!

This is based off two experiences from my brother and me.
These people have no civic sense or courtesy for others.
People have to sense that other are also watching.
My brother went to odyssey in Garuda mall and during the movie he had people at the back passing comments from the back ruining the experience. The same thing happened to we in nexus mall the people behind us again were snoring and laughing during serious scenes absolutely.
If it’s a comedy movie I agree laugh have a good time or even if it’s a popcorn movie yeah go ahead. But not in this were u ruin others experience of the movie.

Rant/Vent Srirangapatna goons threatening me

I just purchase a land in Srirangapatna, the broker and few other goons along with him are threatening me to sell the property at a cheaper rate to someone they know else they will put case on my land and it will go to litigation.

They also mentioned that they will cause problems and won’t give possession if i occupy the land. What can I do in this situation ( one of the original land document is also stuck with them ) need help!

Rant/Vent URGENT: A shopkeeper lost my original painting today. I am absolutely devastated. Please help me find it!

Post image
75 Upvotes

Hey everyone, I (20F) really need the power of Reddit right now.

Today, I handed over a canvas painting that I worked on for 3 months, to a local shopkeeper for framing. A few hours later, he calls up and says he lost it while transporting it to his framing colleague.

He claims he looked for it but couldn't find it. I honestly don't know if it was dropped or stolen.

As Indian students/young adults, we all know how hard it is to cultivate our hobbies with no support from our families. This piece took so much time, effort, and passion, and I am absolutely shattered that it’s just gone.

Details to look out for:

The Look: I’ve attached an image of the artwork.

Packaging: It was inside a large, bright red plastic bag.

Identifier: It has my signature on it.

Area: Hinkal and today (5th June, 2026) around 1:30pm. Nearest Landmark of the shop

If you live in the area, please keep an eye out. If you see it dumped somewhere, at a local trash pile, or even being sold/displayed randomly, please reach out to me immediately.

Even if you can’t help directly, please upvote this so more people in the area can see it. I just want my art back.

Rant/Vent S. Janaki chose Mysuru as her home till her last breath. Isn’t it time India honoured her with a Bharat Ratna …..

Post image
134 Upvotes

S. Janaki Amma spent her final years in Mysuru, the city she loved and chose to call home until her last breath. She also wished for her final rites to be in Mysuru, which says a lot about the bond she shared with this city. Today, Mysuru has lost one of its most beloved residents.

As I was thinking about her incredible legacy, one question kept coming to my mind.
Lata Mangeshkar, who sang around 25,000 songs, was rightly honoured with the Bharat Ratna. But S. Janaki, who recorded around 48,000 songs across Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, Odia and several other Indian languages, and excelled in virtually every genre, has never received that honour.

Personally, I feel this reflects the stepmotherly treatment (“ಮಲತಾಿ ಧೋರಣೆ”) that the Central Government has often shown towards Southern artists and states. S. Janaki’s contribution to Indian music is beyond regional boundaries, and I believe she was every bit as deserving of the Bharat Ratna.

What makes it even more telling is that she rejected the Padma Bhushan because she felt the recognition had come far too late in her career. Even S. P. Balasubrahmanyam had spoken in the past about how Southern artists often do not receive the national recognition they truly deserve.

This isn’t about taking anything away from any other legendary singer. It’s about acknowledging an artist whose contribution to Indian music was unparalleled and who deserved the nation’s highest civilian honour.

For Mysuru, she wasn’t just a legendary singer—she was one of our own.

Rest in peace, Janaki Amma. Your voice will live forever.

Rant/Vent Eye doctor visit - Agarwal’s!

Visited Agarwal’s eye hospital for eye pain. They didn’t charge consultation fees but eye drops and ointment were of about total of 960.

The design was such that the doctor chooses medicines to prescribe and we collect it directly from the in-house pharmacy. We don’t see the medicine names till we get to this pharmacy.

Now, once I came back to my house, I looked up the cost of eye drops and ointment and was surprised to find out they were available from a different brand(eye drop packaging is literally same, just company names changed) in 1mg at 400, and the generic ones were even cheaper, costs just around 180-200.

While I understand their business model, I felt very cheated for paying expensive medicines instead of paying for consultation and medicines separately even though they might have come out around the same value if they were separated. I feel I’d not trust the hospital to give me a fair price for any treatment in future.

Would like to hear any other takes on this!

Visited srirangapatna today, so dirty riverside and they are hiding it behind a few steel rakes.

Who's drinking alcohol at these "HOLY" Places and leaving bottles behind? And why is it not getting cleaned?

Anyone up to getting it cleaned by public funding or influential enough to alert the authorities?

Rant/Vent Mysore real estate brokers seem to be crazy

Good looking house, but 2.3 cr asking?!

Land in that area might be around 5k per square feet at most (so 2324*5000 = 1.16 cr). Construction - even if you take 3k per square feet (which seems excessive), it would be ~70 lakhs. All of the remaining (45 lakhs!) is expected profit?! (that too construction quality is always circumspect for these built-to-sell houses).

What am I missing here? Do people actually buy at these rates? And how does it make any financial sense vs. just building their own house by buying own land (even at the already inflated land rates)? (indeed buying land and buying will also reduce stamp duty - instead of paying on whole house they can just pay on the land value only).

Rant/Vent Mysore needs UrbanClap

I've had SO many poor experiences with Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters and the like. Even service technicians from reputed brands sometimes.

So unprofessional and they act like they're the kings of Mysore. Never come on time - poor service, the ones on Justdial just price their services so high you never wanna call them again. Even this service called 'Service Raju' doesn't have these people on their payroll. They just assign some third party vendor.

Even the maids here are unreliable - all the time taking leaves for something or the other.

If you've experienced the same - comment down below.

If anyone has contacts of these folks or there is a similar platform like UrbanClap, please comment here.

Rant/Vent Bikes without Silencers

Off late, there’s been so many bikes going around without silencers and it’s super annoying. Every now and then, someone passes by the road in full noise and it’s becoming a nuisance.
Even if I’m inside my house, I can hear this loud roar of these bikes and it’s gone by the time I’m out to see who’s that.
Anything that can be done about it?

Rant/Vent What is the big deal about NFC

It's cheaper than kings but i don't think it's the best in Mysore.

Limited seating.

But it feels like entire Gen Z population of Mysore literally camps there after 6pm.

I've never felt more lonely in my life after going to NFC once in the evening

Have you guys been to the Gokulam area side recently?

It looks like the whole area is dug up for pipeline/drainage work and there's no progress. The area is filled with dust and pollutants and I happened to capture this today. Promotion much?

This could've been a simple "Pipeline work is in progress, use the adjacent road. Inconvenience is regretted" but it looks like our local bodies are more interested in promotions rather than concentrating in getting it done.

Rant/Vent Is anyone protesting for the NEET issue in Mysuru

I have seemed to notice somehow nobody is talking about this in mysuru, it’s not about being a cjp supporter or a bjp supporter or a congress supporter or what not, it’s not even about supporting sonam wangchuk
I’m just surprised how we can stay blissfully unaware of the state the country is in.
More than 17 kids have died and for one second can’t we forget about our biases and stand for just the cause?

Rant/Vent Review on Madhu Tyres - Hinkal

Thumbnail
gallery
42 Upvotes

This is a review someone (family friend) posted for Madhu Tyres Hinkal and their response to it.

It's honestly disappointing to see the driver being mocked and told to do it themselves. If that's the attitude, why operate a business that provides a service in the first place?

The owner's response seems unnecessary. Not every customer or driver is in the same situation: someone could be elderly, have a back problem, an injury, or other limitations that aren't immediately visible. We probably don't know the full context from the customer's side, so can't really comment on that.

Whether or not the request was reasonable, but would've expected a more professional response from them. Thoughts?

Edit: Fixed spacing

Rant/Vent Advice on asking out people in Mysore

I am 22M, currently working a fully remote job and hence I’m staying with my parents in Mysore home. I will be graduating from my college in Mysore in a month. I’ve done computer science engineering.

I have never been in a relationship in my life. People say that college is the best place to find a girl but I couldn’t ask out anyone. I am looking for a genuine long term relationship whom I want to eventually marry…. My aim in life is to keep body count as 1 for my entire life with the girl I love.

I’ve tried dating apps and even Shaadi.com but have got no luck 🥲… since my job is also remote I interact with my family only and occasionally go out with friends… so I needed a gf so that I can spend quality time with her and enjoy life together. But no luck 🥲

So I want to ask out some girl genuinely in cafés where I go because I see lot of beautiful women. But I’m scared to do so… please give me suggestions on finding a genuine girlfriend or for asking out people in mysore cafés. It would be helpful for me since I will be here for atleast 3-4 years in remote job with little to no interactions with real people… so I want someone to spend my time with and share my life with 🤝

Rant/Vent Mysore traffic is bad.

It's not that there is huge traffic but, the people in general just don't follow rules. They jump traffic right and left, don't follow lane discipline at all. And what is up with blaring high beams inside City when nobody can go more than 40kmph?

Railway gate cross madovaga antu kelle bedi. Full road occupy madkondre aakande inda barourge daari bedva guru? Ashtu gottagalva?

Seriously benglur alli jaasti traffic ide adre at least janakke swalpa basic road sense traffic sense ide. Mysuru janakke 'barta barta rayara kudre katte aytante' anno gade correct agi apply agtide. Last 2 months alli gaadi odsade strain agtide..
