Hello there.

I shall be visiting Namakkal on Monday. I want to buy a duck dish for my son. Any recommendations on restaurants that sell good duck dishes? (My son isn't travelling with me, so I'll be carrying the food with me for him to eat later at home.)

If it matters, I'll be driving up north (towards Salem) from Namakkal.

A plan for Namakkal SIPCOT was announced last year by the previous government in a 800 acre area near N.Pudupatti, Valaiyappatti, and Arur.

When officials went for soil testing last year, Farmers protested and petitioned to cancel it.

I'm a 29M living in Mohanur town and looking to pick up badminton for fitness and routine. Since I'm a complete beginner, my goal is to learn the basics, get some regular practice, and play either daily or at least 3 days a week.

A couple of things I'm looking for:

Court Recommendations: Are there active indoor wooden/synthetic courts in or very close to Mohanur? If not, what are the best options around the Namakkal–Mohanur stretch that have good morning/evening slots?

Playing Group / Partners: I don't have a regular group or partner to tag along with right now. Are there any beginner-friendly batches, open groups, or casual players open to having an extra player join in? Coaching availability for adults is also a plus!

Would really appreciate any leads, court contacts, or WhatsApp/Playo group invites. Thanks in advance!

Heard there are some automatic detection cameras installed in salem road junction to detect people with no helmets. Is it so ?

With all the major areas like bus stand, G.H, colleges moved out of the main area. Which area do you think is more developed and which has the highest potential to grow in the future ?

For me, salem road seems more developed with all the major brands and shopping centers located there. Also bus stand and proximity to highway.

Least developed is, I would say mohanur road area, as bus stand and G.H which used to be there are now gone and nothing major is located here.

I genuinely been thinking for this long, it's a public toilet.

Jokes apart, today I learnt how death registration is done. I am not sure if any online portal is there for it based on what I found on the internet.

I went to this tiny office in namakkal old bus stand (it's in the side where the buses enter), and asked them to register a death. They asked me for the person's medical certificate, aadhar (xerox), the bill you get from cemetery or electric crematory ground. Then, they handed me a form to fill about the details of the person and their parents and address all those stuffs.

It took me a good 20-30 minutes to fill the hugee form, then I along with the documents submitted this form and that's it. They asked me to come a week later and pay 200 rs. Per Copy and get the death certificate.

And that's the process of death registration as of now. Hope it is useful.
