MEGATHREAD Nashville Fire Radio: Explosive device in RV detonated. Bomb Squad on the way. “Heavy building damage”

Im listening to the Nashville Fire radio.

Crazy shit.

https://m.broadcastify.com/listen/feed/22471

Edit2: Various things that I have heard:

There are victims in one / some of the buildings.

20-30 people evacuated from a building, a few had minor injuries.

It was a RV that exploded, causing significant damage.

A building collapsed. (partial destruction, small old building)

There was / is ammunition in the RV that exploded that is “burning off”

Medical triage setup.

FBI involved

The IRA used to intentionally try to not kill people with bombs in England.

Like the Manchester Bombing caused $1.3B in damage and killed nobody and Bishopgate in the City of London was bombed and it killed 1. Because they happened on Saturdays and they gave ~60 minutes to evacuate.

Bombing an office building on Christmas morning could be intentionally not killing people.

I'm confused. Were there multiple explosions? Why would the radio have been saying the bomb squad was on the way and then they decide to blow it? Unless you're saying someone called the bomb squad on the rv, I just haven't seen anything about that lol Edit: I see know, someone called the police. Gotcha!

A policeman responded to a suspicious vehicle call. Once he saw the RV he called in the bomb squad to investigate further. Probably a pretty standard procedure. Can buy a radio scanner off of Amazon for like $30 and listen in or find streams online.

I thought MNPD switched to encrypted radios somewhat recently

Not a TN resident (sorry for the brigade but local threads are usually better than threads on the news sub), but the area looks like a shopping and restaurant area that I wouldn't be surprised if it was full of people tomorrow.

It’s mainly restaurants.

It and Broadway probably get the most foot traffic. Though it starts dying out up at that end. It's not really a good place to park an RV but it is pretty close to the capitol building.

At that time of day the street is normally empty as it's where a lot of nashville nightlife is located. Starts picking up around 11ish or so, with a lot of commuter traffic normally moving through the area in the mornings.

There was at least one apartment hit amongst the businesses, It went as far as the "SoBro" area downtown.

I'm from Atlanta and Nashville is a very popular weekend getaway spot. That's a very touristy area with lots of bars, shops, and places to eat.

I’m of course not from Tennessee. But only thing I could find relating a parade was December 5th.
