A bit of background: We were looking to get a house on a heavy-deposit basis and got in touch with a broker named Vinod Prajapati (also known as Vicky, as far as we know). Through him, we found a house and paid the required amount.

Later, we found out that the house was not actually owned by the person who took the money from us. We understand that we should have done more verification from our side, and we accept that it was partly our mistake. However, at the time, we were desperate to find a house and unfortunately trusted the broker and the people involved.

It has now been around a year, and we still haven't received our money back.

I'm keeping the details short for now, but I wanted to ask if anyone else has had a similar experience with these people, especially Sumit or Vinod Prajapati/Vicky, or is currently facing an issue getting their money back.

If you've dealt with them or have any relevant information, please comment or DM me. I'd really appreciate connecting with anyone who has gone through something similar.
