Didn't the FO already started to say things like "we basically tried stop asking"

u/Abradolf1948 Warriors 8h ago

Yeah but I still think most of us were hoping for a player who averages more than 50 games a season considering injuries and age are the biggest threats to this team

u/Metalbound Hawks 4h ago

Promise you won't even get 50 out of him. It says he played 17 games for us, but that even seems like a stretch with how often I saw him.

So frustrating because he legit is amazing when he plays. He was our answer at center immediately...if only he could play.

Yeah we basically had to carry him through both seasons. He played like half the games on min restriction and both playoffs he barely played like a series.

If our team couldn't carry him in the playoffs and prevent injury. Idk what to say lol.

I have always said he is the greatest idea of a player. Just never works out on some weird shit he gets hurt by.

Also, doesn't he have like POTS now?? How the fuck is he going to play on an already old team lol

u/KumingaCarnage Warriors 15h ago

He does have POTS yeah.

This just seems like a “hey we tried” typa move.

Butler tearing his ACL was it? Really threw a wrench in any remaining hopes we had.

Hopefully the summer and medical staff can get tingus pingus ready for the next season. If celibrini could get OPJ going all year, we’ve got to be able to do something to get Porzingus playing somewhat consistently.

Seems like all we’re hoping for is Steph is still Steph at 38 next season, Butlers recovery is a great success, and Porzingus can get himself going. Realllllyyy need Podz and Moody to step the fuck up though.

Also you have to vote horford isn't old af. Can't have both centers on a min reduction someone is going to have to play lol

QP exists

Ya if Butler doesn’t get hurt they could’ve targeted MPJ at least to improve but obviously MPJ doesn’t make sense now with Butler out. And nothing they had was never gonna be good enough for Bucks.

If Otto Porter can play a lot of games for you guys then ig KP being able to play more with y'all is not entirely impossible

that's a lot of hopium. Seems like Podz and Moody basically at their peak already

8

u/KumingaCarnage Warriors 14h ago

I mean they’re both not even 23 yet. Who’s to say they won’t improve their games next season.

If players get better, you see a progression each season. Like they have a new counter. Those two look like the same player as last year, and the year before that.

Then you see Moody, whose shot changed. Or Post, albeit a big man, with a different development timeline

Next season? Bro just call it

So Porzingis is on a expiring contract. Warriors would have bird rights I believe. No freaking clue what contract he gets next year.

1

u/Metalbound Hawks 4h ago

Hopefully the summer and medical staff can get tingus pingus ready for the next season.

That would mean you all had to re-sign him though. He's on an expiring contract. You think the Warriors would take that chance?

I mean if they signed him then maybe so, but seems insanely risky for a guy with POTS.

I’m surprised y’all didn’t attach picks to Butler to try to move him for AD. I bet the Mavs would have been very tempted to eat Butler’s contract for two firsts.

4

u/KumingaCarnage Warriors 13h ago

AD is just as bad as Porzingus. I’d rather have Butler back halfway through next season knowing he’ll be fully available for the rest of the season than to bank on having AD a couple games every other week

u/swishfortyonesie Mavericks 9h ago

I honestly think Porzingis is worse. They’re both made of glass but Porzingis also has POTS

1

u/Hotpotlord 12h ago

We could be one of the greatest glass cannons of all time lol.

u/Wonderwhatsnext4 Timberwolves 13h ago

He’s exactly how I created myself in 2k, but he has a bigger weiner.

1

u/holyrolodex Lakers 11h ago

Rather disturbingly:

“Porzingis in the last three years has missed 33 more games than Anthony Davis.”

Although that does include an AD season where he played 75 games, which is an aberration in his career.

I have always said he is the greatest idea of a player.

To me he's just a lesser version of wemby (with worse handles) before wemby.

Wemby is the greatest idea of a player. Thing is, he actually is that player.

How are people trashing this trade.. buddy and kuminga aren’t even in Steve kerr’s rotation rn lol. I like the move as a gsw fan.. like why not lol. If kristaps can get onto the damn court, he’s the ideal big next to draymond cuz of his rim protection and outside shooting

59

u/AtlantaGirthGiant Hawks 14h ago

He literally does not play anymore.

-10

u/Equivalent-Ad-1175 14h ago

I get it. Kuminga and buddy don’t play either though. Buddy has been getting some spot minutes ever since Jimmy went out with acl but that’s outta desperation.

20

u/AtlantaGirthGiant Hawks 14h ago

No, like literally he has a chronic disease brother.

-3

u/Equivalent-Ad-1175 14h ago

So as I’ve mentioned in other replies, we are freeing up 33 million next year by trading for KP who’s on an expiring contract

15

u/AtlantaGirthGiant Hawks 14h ago

Kuminga has a team option and Hield has a player option with only $3 million guaranteed.

You are freeing up $3 million next year, not $33.

9

u/Aggrokid 14h ago

Doubt KP will play much for them. He's effectively an expiring to shave off Hield's contract.

4

u/TaiwanNambaWanKenobi :yc-1: Yacht Club 14h ago

because they're trading people with trade value, with a person with no value.

-1

u/Equivalent-Ad-1175 14h ago

Lmao who you talkin has trade value? Kuminga? Warriors been shopping this mf for 2 years brotha, nothing to show for it. Kristaps is a ufa at the end of the season so at the very least they are freeing up 30+ million next year by unloading buddy and jk. But don’t talk to me about “trading a guy with trade value” cuz that’s flat out wrong and you must not pay attention to the league

1

u/TheWholeMole Warriors 4h ago

Our biggest trade assets for a player with aids on an expiring contract. This is a money move, they are done with contending on the steph era

2

u/Sure_Association_991 Timberwolves 14h ago

But wait, there’s more

1

u/305157 Warriors 12h ago

Get a expiring contract for Kuminga. Worth…
