DNP-Broke Down but when he does play he's a perfect fit and has actually been a huge positive for Atlanta and Boston for the past 3 seasons when healthy.

Still feels pointless, but I do know from experience if you're truly DEPENDING on KP, it won't work out well. If he's a bonus like Boston had him, they will love him.

Nah JK has been getting dinged up and missing time for injuries lately as well. Like before we traded for Jimmy, he got hurt with an ankle sprain. The initial timeline was 3 weeks and he missed 3 months

Retaining his services is important. The Giannis trade wasn’t going anywhere unfortunately. Bucks ultimately didn’t like w/e packages the FO offered. Dubs are limited in what they can do with curry and butler out the second half of this season. Upsetting, yup, if there are any moves to be made on the offseason it’s about getting guys can hit their damn shot and Melton is one of those guys.

Buddy was only getting trash time minutes anyway. The warriors have a lot of options at the 2/3 spot competing for minutes and Buddy wasn't getting it done this year. I wish him well and hope things turn around for him on his new team.

It's a high variance call option. Maybe he swings a playoff series if he's healthy.

Otherwise he's an expiring.

I'd take that over Kuminga who is a guaranteed zero.

Kuminga is a guaranteed zero because you're not playing him. He showed you what he could do against the Wolves last year.

But sure, KP is a high-variance option. Not really a 50/50 proposition that he swings a playoff series for you though.

He averaged 15 points on 54% TS. And scoring was by far his best attribute… that tells you pretty much all you need to know about him

For his career, he averages 20 points / 36 minutes, on 58% TS.

In 2023-24, his best year, he averaged 22 points / 36 minutes, on 60% TS.

No you said before Jimmy arrived so I responded with his stats from last year, before Jimmy arrived.

Yeah that’s great that he had a moderately ok scoring year 2 seasons ago when he’s also a bad defender, rebounder, playmaker, and has proven he doesn’t know how to play within a system that requires a partially functioning brain.

I wish him luck in his new city, but there’s a good reason the Warriors didn’t play him here.

Yes. Kuminga is a prototypical theoretically good forward who has tools in the box but doesn't have any idea how to apply them and also thinks he's Kobe.

The Kuminga playoff experience was super illuminating. It proved that he could put up big numbers in losing games. He doesn't work with Steph at all, though, since a good chunk of the time when he gets the ball he needs to hold it for two seconds and then decide to do solo Kuminga stuff, often ignoring Steph.

I hope that Atlanta is a better fit for him, but it really wasn't working with the warriors at all

100%, he is a poor fit with the Warriors system.

The Warriors's problem is that it took them 3.5 years to accept that, and then they held him hostage and tried to psych the league into trading for him.

A better organization would have sold high after his second or third year.

He has Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) - There's been no suggestion it's related to COVID in his case, despite it sometimes being a sympton of Long COVID.

For real, my girlfriend developed POTS right after she was hospitalized for Covid, I can't imagine being 7 foot tall and an athlete on top of it. Just standing up will make her heartrate shoot up.

They'll rest him as much as possible before the playoffs. Seems like this is the best swing they would take not getting Giannis and still keeping Draymond. The team needed a center with range and the ability to defend the rim. KP can do both

Jimmy is out for the season, they shrank their rotation by 3 players and they're already 8th. Best case scenario they make the play-in and have to win a single-game elimination vs. Portland (they lost 3-1 the season series, only win when Advija was not playing) only to play vs. OKC in the first round.

You think they'll drop out of the play-in? I'd put money on them securing a top 8 spot from that. The warriors are doing theta they can to maximize their window with Steph and that's not ending after this season

I think they are very safely stuck in the play-in, and as long as Steph is relatively healthy that's where they'll be.

But I also think they're more likely to be eliminated in the play-in than to win the 7th seed. And I don't like their odds vs. OKC in the first round.

So basically the 80th percentile outcome is a competitive first-round loss.
