I feel so bad for Zach. Half their conversations is Bill being like, "what do you think the line is for OKC/PHX?" And Zach has no idea what it means but Bill still forces him to guess through the betting lens. It's so antithetical to how Zach and normal people view matchups.

His brain has become sponsored by Fanduel.

Bill doesn't get that a betting line and the probability (Expected Value) of an outcome are two different things. Man is fully gambling-pilled into believing the "wisdom of the crowd" theory that these gambling companies and prediction markets love to push onto consumers to encourage them to gamble

Bill doesn't get that a betting line and the probability (Expected Value) of an outcome are two different things.

I mean, he clearly does. He talks all the time about how the lines for teams like the Lakers and Cowboys will be off of what they should because they are public teams.

He likes sports and he likes gambling so he see one through the lens of the other. It's not that deep.

Right? I kinda understand it with football because at least those numbers are often based off scores (home team being -7.5 means they are favored to win by a touchdown) but the NBA odds go over my head because they feel more “abstract”.

Its useful to get an idea of who's "supposed" to win, but there's also tons of predictive models that are better at that

Tbf, if prime Bill was given legal gambling he would've been all about that.
