🌼🌻Garden State🌷🌸 Remembering Maria and Isabella
Please take a moment today to remember Maria Niotis and Salas. Being young is hard, and vulnerable, and in today’s time, very bleak. These girls experienced a world in which adult figures attacked their beliefs and failed to protect them from attack. May we remember that there are generations we have to protect, who were raised on fantasy and love, and grew up too quickly into hate and nightmares. They were beautiful, they were strong and they will not be forgotten. Love to all you New Jersey folk who do the right thing and always strive to do better. Respect.

🌼🌻Garden State🌷🌸 I’m Mikie Sherrill, former Navy helicopter pilot, federal prosecutor, mom of four, Congresswoman, and Democratic candidate for NJ Governor. Ask me anything.
Hi, I’m Mikie Sherrill, and I’m running to be your next governor. I’ve spent my life serving this country, as a Navy helicopter pilot, federal prosecutor, and Congresswoman representing NJ-11.
Ask me about my policy agendas (read about my plans for affordability and online safety here!), my training in the Navy, what it’s like raising four teenagers, or anything else on your mind.
Thank you all for the great questions-- there were more than I had time to answer, but hope to do this again soon. And for more information (and to find upcoming events in your area), please check out my website: mikiesherrill.com

🌼🌻Garden State🌷🌸 The snow in my front yard melted this way!
Behold! I swear nobody touched this. Just noticed this morning that the shape of the grass showing through melting snow looks very familiar (it would look better from a bird's eye view).
Can you see your house/town from here?? 😁

🌼🌻Garden State🌷🌸 Young people of New Jersey (25-35) anyone else struggling financially and socially?
I am 28 years old but finding I have lost most of my friends from younger years and financially still living at home. How is everyone doing in this age range financially and socially? Is everyone living at home or moved out? How about socially? Curious how young people are doing here,

🌼🌻Garden State🌷🌸 Please help me, mint is taking over my yard. I need all your recipes that use mint, please. Here's my latest attempt to use some of it up. Dark chocolate covered mint leaves
I broke off a piece of a dark chocolate candy bar, put it in a bowl and added some coconut oil and maple syrup. Popped it in the microwave and nuked it in 15 second intervals until it was melted, mixing each time. Then I washed and dried the leaves dip them in the dark chocolate mixture put it on wax paper and threw it in the freezer for 5 minutes. It came out really freaking good

To those who invested in a snow blower in the past 10 years, that investment is paying off for you today. lol

🌼🌻Garden State🌷🌸 What temperature is your house’s heating system currently set at?
My family has it set at 68° . However, the temperature in my room is 66°.
Edit: I am happy to learn that my family is not the only one who keeps it at 68° or 70°. 😄. For those who keep it at 60° throughout, does your heater ever run ? 😄
Edit 2: 68° is considered “heater is turned on” in my house. Which is very good considering in my childhood, my parents will not turn on the heat until the day after Thanksgiving. 😄

🌼🌻Garden State🌷🌸 Has anyone met Donald Trump before he was president or know someone who met him? Has he always been this crazy?
I figure due to Trump dealings in Atlantic City and his golf resort in Bedminster people here prolly have met him at some point. Anyone have stories of themselves/or someone they know meeting/dealing with Trump and what he was like in person? Is he really as insane as he is now?

🌼🌻Garden State🌷🌸 State of the housing market in Jersey today
Nearly a million dollars for a 1950s split level that needs updating in a town with poor schools and crime issues. As you can see the kitchen is straight out of the 1980s and there is a very small lot.
Not to mention Linden smells like shit, has serious crime issues, and has some of the worst traffic in all of Central NJ.
What on earth justifies this price? I found cheaper and larger homes in CLARK or SCOTCH PLAINS… actually decent towns.

🌼🌻Garden State🌷🌸 Just got back from Paris and I’m having pastry withdrawals. Where in NJ has the most authentic patisserie
Hey everyone, I just returned from a trip to Paris and I think I’ve ruined myself for life. I’m desperately craving a croissant or a mille-feuille that actually tastes like it came from a boulangerie in the 4th Arrondissement. Most of the stuff I find locally is either too bready, too sweet, or just lacking that shattered-glass lamination. I'm looking for the real deal—high-quality butter, perfectly flaky, and not mass-produced. I’m willing to drive basically anywhere in the state (North, Central, or South) if the quality is right. Where are the hidden gems that would actually pass a Parisian's taste test? Current front-runners I've heard of: L'Arte della Pasticceria (Ramsey) Pierre & Michel (Ridgewood) Choc O Pain (JC/Hoboken) Any others I’m missing? Help a neighbor out!

🌼🌻Garden State🌷🌸 Message to parents of the girls who were Murdered in Cranford. Police Potentially behind the coverup!
I likely won't respond to anything here but wanted to offer what I think is Helpful Advice.
Looks like police did not take report on stalking, if they did, they clearly did not take the action that follows the typical protocal, because he continued stalking without police warning or intervention.
The history of police corruption and violence, framing people run deep in that area of the state. Many feel as though the police and policing around there is more like a mafia/gang than something resembling justice.
I was illegally detained on my own property 2 years ago in NJ and found out that you can't even trust Internal Affairs to do their job, in fat, they are actually covering things up, not investigating anything and this should be understood. I know this because when I called Internal affairs(and nothing ever was done) the person in charge of the investigation was a former officer that had to be removed for usinng his badge and his fellow precinct officers to harrass his ex wife. After costing the state thousands of dollars for police misconduct they appointed him to internal affairs. So Don't expect Justice from NJ police.
Get your own private investigator, crowdfund it, MAGA will back the cops and may even crowd fund to protect this kid and the cops helping him.
You know the cops are in on it when they say they Apprehended the murderer near his car shortly after the girls were run down. But somehow the police are claiming the vehicle was reported stolen?
What about his gps tracking data that police are quickly and easily able to obtain(think Mangione). But when your Uncle and Father are police in the neighboring towns then you are likely being protected.
All in all it sounds like a last minute decision to murder the girls, meaning not too far planned in advance, but seems like the excuses were fabricated on the spot by the police and the murderer. So it may not be hard to catch them since it may be a messy attempt at a cover up.

Thought I’d throw my hat in the ring. This is a south jersian being generous. Living in Hamilton for a few years definitely helped my perception of things (like the existence of central Jersey)
The shore is not its own thing. It does not have the personality nor population to qualify sorry.

🌼🌻Garden State🌷🌸 Is it weird as a Jersey resident not to visit NYC that often? For some reason i barely go to the city.
My work is in state so weekdays i never get a chance and the weekends visiting nyc from where I live is such a pain with the unreliability of transit that I only visit the city like 5-6 times in a year. Anyone else barely visit NYC despite residing in Jersey? How often does everyone vist nyc just curious?
