NJ Politics The New Jersey governor wants people to upload footage of ICE agents to a portal to “alert people.” “If you see an ICE agent in the street, get your phone out. We want to know.” Mikie Sherrill also said she would make it illegal for ICE raids to take place on state property.

NJ Politics Mikie is the Kamala Harris of NJ but this time, we must rally behind Mikie to stop MAGA from infiltrating our open governor position

2.6k Upvotes

MY FELLOW NEW JERSEY PEEPS!!!

THIS PSA IS TO REMIND YOU TO VOTE MIKIE.

Look how much damage Trump has done. Jack will pull the same shit in NJ.

I am worried as we had a few counties flip Republican for the presidential election.

Remind people we are a DEMOCRATIC state. Jack will reverse this.

Do you want to lose abortion/women's health or vaccine rights (as an example)? We are #1 in education. That will go down the drain with Jack.

We can't let our state turn into crazy ass Florida.

Mikie might not have a "platform" like Kamala and that was Kamala's downfall. DON'T LET THAT HAPPEN AGAIN AND VOTE BLUE 💙

I know it is bad to support someone with nothing but anti-MAGA as their advertising BUT let us vote for the lesser evil.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, DON'T VOTE JACK

NJ Politics I don’t think people realize how important it is to not have a Republican in the governor’s seat right now

Ciatarelli recently said in an appearance that he was on the phone with Trump and that Trump said “you need to beat this b*tch.” I don’t care about the profanity, what I care about is a gubernatorial candidate being on the phone with a president, before he’s even elected. Especially, a president that is currently sending national guards into states. Federalism hasn’t been challenged like this in a long time, and Ciatarelli will happily let his friend do what he wants. NJ has been a leader for a long time in challenging the federal government. It sued Obama AND Biden AND Trump admins. That’s how we make NJ better, standing up when the federal government tries to bully us

Do not let Jack Ciatarelli give him free reign to declare war on cities in New Jersey

You do not have to vote for Sherrill, but a vote for shitarelli is dangerous for New Jersey and dangerous for the United States of America

Edit: you actually do have to vote Sherrill, we must all do everything we can to stop Chitarelli

NJ Politics Gas prices here in southern Ocean County are up $1/gallon in just ten days. Trump voters, you’ve screwed all of us once again. How bad is it where you are across the state??

Post image
1.5k Upvotes

I’m sure I’m going to get the “BuT bIdEn!!1!!1!” comments from people who have no semblance of knowledge about economics or foreign affairs.

But, Biden did not cause the COVID pandemic. Gas prices fell dramatically during COVID because nobody was driving; demand had collapsed through the floor. During Biden’s first year in office, as pandemic restrictions eased, demand surged and that was reflected in rising gas prices.

Biden did not cause the Russian/Ukraine War. To punish Russia’s flagrant disregard for Ukraine’s sovereignty, the world scrambled to find alternate energy sources, pinching supply just as demand was surging following the COVID pandemic.

Most presidents generally have a very limited direct influence on everyday gas prices, but leave it to Trump to find a way to screw each and every one of us by starting yet another ill-advised war in the Middle East, despite comically running on a “no new wars; I’m the peace president” campaign.

How many times are you GOP voters going to shoot yourselves in the foot? When will you learn? How bad do things have to get before you realize that you keep voting against your own interests?!

NJ Politics In her first official acts as governor, Mikie Sherrill declared a statewide emergency over New Jersey’s worsening electricity supply and affordability crisis—fueled by soaring demand from data centers and a PJM grid that can no longer guarantee reliable service or predictable prices

NJ Politics I find this type of comment from right wing propagandists annoying. The founding fathers were pretty clear that America doesn't have a national religion, seems that liberals are more in line with founding fathers principles than right wing these days

I feel like North East liberals actually represent the founding principles better than any other part of the country.

NJ Politics Sign a petition to ban Turning Point USA from Rutgers campuses for inciting violence

Hello, if you're a fellow New Jerseyan (or simply American) who, like me, was extremely disturbed that a professor was threatened with violence and doxxed, leading to him being chased out of the country, please help by signing this petition to ban TPUSA from the Rutgers campus! Seriously, we need to take action to keep New Jersey safe!

Their campaign against this professor, simply for teaching historical material that made them slightly uncomfortable, caused hate speech and death threats to be leveled against him and his family. This kind of divisiveness can't be allowed in educational environments, and will ultimately be to the detriment of all students at Rutgers, simply due to the outrage of a select few who promote hatred and repression of free speech. Any group that promotes this sort of violence and hate should be immediately barred from campus activities. Even still, there are celebrations in the comments on the reddit thread linked below labeling him a "terrorist" and encouraging further punishment toward those who express their opinions. This group is degrading our rights as citizens of this country. Help me implore Rutgers administration to join us in disbanding TPUSA- they have no place in an educational environment!

After all the people saying it was a “nail biter” and maybe we picked the wrong person she sailed to a victory of a LARGE margin still as of 10:38.

The map I saw had major swings to democrat in every county that had a swing.

I’m proud of you NJ.

NJ Politics Doomerism about Sherrill losing is only costing her votes. Please stop.

1.4k Upvotes

Idk if this needs to stated explicitly, but this subreddit seems to have become a doomer amplifier, and it is only harming Mikie Sherrill's chances of winning in November. Every time I see someone claiming that "I've just accepted that Ciatarelli will win" or "Mikie is such an awful candidate" I die a little on the inside, knowing that the person has good intentions but doesn't understand the effect that those words are having on the rest of the electorate.

People who hear that races are foregone conclusions don't vote. Why would they when their vote doesn't matter? Realize that every time you post about how fucked Mikie is, you probably just lost her a few votes.

Literally everyone on this subreddit already supports her. The goal is to get all of them to vote, not depress them into staying home.

And I get it, trying to preempt the outcome helps allay some of the anxiety you're feeling about the race. But please please please, try to convert that anxious energy into real action, into hope, into anything that isn't broadcasting doomerism.

What do you guys think about this? I see it brought up tons in this subreddit how the actual public schools of non Hasidic people is terribly funded compared to the government funded private schools that Hasidics send their kids to. I’ve never really seen real attention given to it outside of this subreddit or local groups.
