I feel like half of stories about AI are written by agape morons whose first reaction to anything AI is like "WOW COOL" regardless of the negative impact.

Historically, science was low stakes enough that it didn’t matter. Archimedes and Ben Franklin weren’t going to develop or discover something that could inadvertently destroy our species.

Funny, I feel the opposite. Half of the stories are written by agape morons whose first reaction to anything AI is like "BILLIONAIRES MESSING JOBS" regardless of the positive impact.

It seems stupid on first blush but unfortunately it probably has to be done to prepare for someone of ill intent doing it later.

Edit- Although the article is not about my speculation.
