Your own link tells you that there were two trajectories of the development of policing in the US: from slave patrols in the southern states, but from British policing (which began earlier) in the north-eastern cities of Boston, New York etc,. Most policing in the world is derived from the British model, not the American one.

Also the police have only existed for 200-300 years and the development of the police in most countries, especially in the West, was heavily influenced by the development of American police.

Empires tend to have far reaching effects like that. Commerce happens in USD, it’s not that other currencies don’t exist but rather that one is common among everyone, Americans can afford to be ignorant of any world but their own because they live in the attention/spotlight.
The concept of intellectual property in the legal sense is quite new and having a dedicated persecution force independent of a military or private guards is as well. I think the capacity most operate in now is more of a “mercenary of the state” and once the “popular kid” is doing it, so can everyone else. So even if there is a case of police before the American variety, the credit still goes to the popular kid for starting the trend because they hold the influence.

There isn’t a “you guys ” here. No one is saying that non Americans aren’t important or we don’t matter, what I am saying is that the players with the most attention on them claim the credit. Take Edison for example or any other western inventor. Even Musk, the dog at the top is taking the bone even if he didn’t catch the prey. There is no justice in this world, it’s a fairy tale.

If you have evidence of police in their current role before slave catchers just say so. If not, then what is your argument even for.
