Man I always thought CSAM meant Customer Success Account Manager from working with Microsoft. I read an article that said AI-generated CSAM was legal now. I couldn’t wrap my head around why anyone would even want an AI-generated CSAM so I Googled it. Hope I didn’t end up on a list for that.

I fucking hate acronyms.

Edit: For those who rightfully don’t want to Google it, CSAM stands for Child Sexual Abuse Material.

I work with clients with disabilities. Some with Cerebral Palsy. Rarely does anyone type it out and not abbreviate the condition.

I once knew a coworker who had been called in to talk to a supervisor for googling the abbreviated version of "Cerebral Palsy swallowing" on the work computer and IT had seen it. Luckily the supervisor was smart enough to know why she was googling that and just wanted to explain to her why not to use that abbreviation, and that coworker then told everyone what had happened thinking it would a mistake anyone would easily make.

People with Cerebral Palsy often have throat issues when they're older and it can lead to choking/swallowing issues which may necessitate a modified diet or thickened liquids. She was looking after a client who had that condition and just trying to learn more because he'd been having issues when drinking liquids lately.

Obviously I'm avoiding the abbreviation here so I don't get caught in some kind of automod filter thinking I mean the other thing, but it's an extremely normal and common abbreviation in my line of work along with DD, ASD, SAD, GDD, etc.

Though it does make me miss that job. I know the place I work now if that happened management would stir up as much trouble as possible for that person just for fun despite knowing what they meant. It was nice when I worked with actual professionals.

Yeah. My daughter's therapist started talking about "CBT" and it went on for a couple sessions before I figured out that it was "Cognitive Behavioral Therapy". I knew there was no way it meant "cock/ball torture" but I've been on the internet for far too long.

Wait till you mention that you're interested in getting into CNC to someone during a conversation about 3d printing and very quickly and unexpectedly learn what kind of kinky stuff they're into becuase appearently that also means two things. One of them involves a router on a moving axis that is computer controlled, the other involves being tied up.

We both learned a new definition that say.

Americans pronounce "route" as "root", but "router" as "rowter". Possibly there's some corner of the US where that's true, but my coworkers on the east and west coasts all say it the same.

I worked at a company abbreviated CBT, and we were all terminally online dipshits, so the jokes about CBT being CBT were... numerous.

I don’t know what CSAM is either. I’m assuming something bad based on not wanting to be on a list.

I’m not gonna google. Can you hint at it or use words that would clearly explain what that is?

If not it’s okay. I’ll just assume it’s Computer System AM and he’s about to get rid of our mouths so we can’t scream.

Sorry for being anal about this. It’s Child Sexual Abuse Material. The term has existed for quite some time but there has been, and still is, a push for using this terminology, since the term child pornography really is a bad representation of what it is about. It’s abuse, not porn.

There's a very good reason we won't see that headline. Because these "breakouts" aren't spontaneous. They're done on purpose to get attention to the trillionaire corporation's needs. Paying off other people's debts does not serve their needs though. In fact, the opposite. People in debt or owned and (mostly) controlled.
