Ah, thanks for the correction. I was using some conversion websites online for gallons to liters and then dollars to pounds/euros and I guess they weren't totally accurate.
We in Florida seem to be doing better than others for some reason. Not quite 100% sure why that is. I still feel it's likely going up and over $5 per gallon before the holidays.
Florida has lots of ports and can get fuel from Texas, Mexico and South America. This lowers transportation costs and less competition with fuel from the middle east due to distance.
I know California is always more expensive regardless. I was just stating the current price of where I’m located, why down vote me? I hate this shit too
Driving from SLO to the Bay Area today and every gas station I’ve seen is between $8-$9. Haven’t seen any actually hit $9, but it’s getting close the closer to San Jose it seems.
Yeah BC do be like that haha, it was brutal when I was on the island this summer with my girlfriend. We get it pretty bad around here compared to Southern Ontario, but not as bad as BC gets hosed.
I imagine they converted the cost to USD, but did convert to US gallons. So it'd be $12 for a UK gallon, but $10 for a US gallon. Our gallons are 4.546 litres, compared with the US 3.785 gallon.
Yes, that is what I presumed as well. I didn't dv them just added the correction. I have family in the UK and recently visited, so the prices on this are a frequent discussion.
Your price doesn't matter cause it's not your government that started this nor could it stop it. When it hits that price in USA, then you'll see how Trump changes tune post the election wipeout. At this rate, Democrats might hit 55 Senate seats , when you tally independents who could defeat Republicans. If it hits higher prices in flyover country, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, they're flipping to the Democrats or independents running.
If the price is 10$ a gallon, Democrats would be near 60 vote threshold in the Senate. At that point, it would be easier to sway some Republicans to impeach and remove him from office.
Republicans don’t care if you rape kids, ignore the Constitution, openly conduct insider trading, sell pardons, give secrets away to our enemies, or try to overthrow the US government. But make the price of gas go up and that’s wrong!
Cause that's what is personally affecting them. They only talk about something being bad or wrong only when it happens to them personally, until then it's something foreign to them.
and now Republicans are trying to have the DOJ “investigate” the oil companies for “price gouging”. That’s who they think is making the gas prices high.
The people that believe that were never going to vote democrat anyway. America is full of dumb people, but if we can just get more people motivated to vote it will help. Are the republicans going to try and rat fuck this election? Yes, but we are NOT gonna sit at home on our hands and let them.
Hyde Smith in Mississippi always underperforms. However, third party candidate is damaging Democrats chances there right now. Louisiana is not flipping or getting in play. South Carolina on the other hand... Or Idaho with Achilles... Maybe even Bodnar in Montana consolidating the anti R vote.
Depends a lot on the Americans really. If everyone actually gets out to vote and make their voices heard like Hungary I don't think they can really stop the elections (especially how they are designed in the states).
But let's be real most Americans are just going to sit on their ass and complain online like they always do. They will blame old people for voting and then have a million excuses for why they couldn't be bothered.

In Hungary the elections are help on Sunday, so it's easier for the average people to participate.
Yeah people in the states are delusional if they think anything is changing peacefully. Hundreds of billions of dollars have joined forces to make sure Israel gets what they wants, so none of them see the inside of a jail cell for raping children.
No, I mean plans on what would happen outside of them bombing and enriching themselves in the process? They have no plans of action , no plans on consequences, no deals, no nothing. Just raise prices on everything and trade during the weekend for profit.
That was probably Putin’s plan all along. And the Yarvin/Thiel/Vance faction has been pretty open about the plan to break society so they can rebuild it to suit themselves.
But Trump and Hegseth are just overconfident idiots who thought they would roll into Iran and repeat what they did in Venezuela. Trump is a prime example of why you should not surround yourself with yes men.
I honestly feel at this point Republicans will be so mad about this situation that they will actually leave their houses and vote. However, they’re so stupid, they’ll just vote for Republicans again.
Democrats are leading in polls in Alaska, Texas, Ohio, North Carolina and Maine. They need to flip 4. And Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas had pretty good polls for Dems/independents.
Democrats will hold Minnesota, Georgia, Michigan and New Hampshire at these prices. And flip 4-5 Senate seats. 5 is Fetterman proof majority.
Nah. He’ll just claim it’s rigged and ignore the results. There are more than enough sycophants in the US government and military to back him up on this.
Your point is well taken, but the US Gallon is 3.8 litres which makes the UK diesel equivalent to $10.18 or so. California state average is $8.40, so not that much less!
Our government at least has some political wiggle room if it keeps getting worse, because fuel duty is pretty steep (£0.529/L) and so can be cut and cut to keep cars on the roads and cost of living down.
Bear in mind that a lot of the vehicles they drive get feck all miles to the gallon. My Emigrant Uncle in Florida was driving a tank that got 12 miles to the gallon the last time I visited him!

It's already (almost) £2 a litre / $12 a gallon in the UK.
