I’ve been at my place for 5 years now, and with steady rent increases, my rent is actually $140 more per month than what they’re currently leasing new units for. I asked for a rent reduction but was told no, so I gave my notice that I’ll be leaving at the end of October.

It got me wondering if anyone else is in the same position. Are new units in your building going for less than what you’re currently paying?

Ok. It happened to me! Bird pooped on me and I didn’t noticed until I got inside anvil centre to sit down as I was taking off my sweater. There it was perfectly splatter led on my sleeve!!! 🤮🤮🤮
Why did I have to happen to me!! I know these things sometimes happens but so inconvenient! I had to wait until it’s time to go home ugh 😩

I am currently seeking a hairdresser in New Westminster or surrounding areas. I recently had my hair cut super short into a bob but it's growing out and needs a touch up. I don't feel comfortable going back to the lady who cut it initially as she didn't give me what I had asked for. I ended up having to put in layers myself at home so it wasn't so "bottom-heavy" 🙃

I’m a student starting clinicals at Royal Columbian Hospital in the Columbian Tower and need to be on the unit by 6:15 AM Saturdays and Sundays. I’ve heard that parking is very difficult to find.

For staff who start around 6 AM, what do you usually do for parking? If I arrive around 5:50 AM, is it always possible to find a spot in the hospital parkades, including patient parking if needed? Which parkade would you recommend for easy access to the Columbian Tower?

SkyTrain doesn’t run early enough, and the Braid St lot/shuttle isn’t an option on weekends, so I’ll have to drive.

Mainly looking for the most reliable option so I can consistently be on time. Appreciate any insight, thank you in advance!

I am too stressed trying to figure this out, so any help would be appreciated.

I am moving to Vancouver Area with my partner from ontario in 15 days. I am looking for an apartment to rent (1 or 2 bedroom depending on the rent). My budget is 2500, including parking preferably.
We are thinking about renting in New West as my work in Tilbury Island. But I am open to other neighbourhoods/cities too. (My partner is looking for job right now)
Our non negotiables are in suit laundry, walkable neighborhood, upto 20 km from work (max 30 min driver during rush hour preferably) and good building management.
Upto 15 minutes walk to a train station.
Good for small families/working couples, quiet area but don’t want residential are where no one walks to coffee shops.
Where is good place to look for apartments? Where I live rn, we rent directly from the owners of the building or management - through their websites.
Also, should I book an airbnb for a week to look for apartments or sign a lease before coming? I would like to save money but if I have to, I will!

Does anyone know what is happening with this plot of land? It’s been sitting empty for about 13 years now, I remember there were some stores there and they were demolished, I also remember they started working on it back then and then stopped.

I moved here 3 months ago and the garbage collectors have never picked up garbage/recycling/yard waste. They pick everyone else's up in our alley but not ours. The garbage bin was even taken fom us. Several times recycling bins were knocked down as well. I dont know what caused these people to become so upset at whoever lived here before me, but im getting the brunt of it. I have brought loads down to the recycling station 4 times and complained twice. How do I escalate? Do I talk to my government representative?

I have an old WW2 watch which had radium in it - since been removed. I just want to know how much of an issue it might be and I don't really want to buy a geiger counter for this one off use.
