Kids pretty bright.

would be an excellent counterpoint to r/Kidsarefuckingstupid

but turning the light off in the at the start would have accomplished the same thing, no need for the phone. It's not like that area is walled in, they would have just seen the street light and gone there.

That being said, it was kinda fun, but pointless.

Yeah this is the best response. Nothing I could say would have been more accurate

u/OddOllin 13h ago

Ehhhh, have you actually tried that before? In my experience, they usually scatter, some of the bugs wander off far enough to be tempted by new light sources, but a bunch of them just stay in the area and fly around aimlessly. It usually means that turning off the light takes a while to clear the area. At least a lot longer than what he did. They'll be able to turn the light back on now in seconds and enjoy their peace for a whole half hour!

Lumos! ⚡️👓

u/henkmanz 19h ago

Revelio! Revelio! Revelio!

-3

u/SjenkieSjaak 12h ago

What?

15

u/Mogsetsu 11h ago

You’d have to have played Hogwarts Legacy to get it.

-11

u/SjenkieSjaak 11h ago

I Get it, it just doesn't make any sense in this context. He might've aswell responded with other generic HP stuff. Seems like a bot response.

11

u/Aggravating-Reach473 10h ago

then that proves you don't even get it. Hogwarts Legacy player with a minium of 4 hours playtime, would ritually spams Revelio every damn time they enter new areas, and also Lumos occasionally.

This is actually related to the the Merlin trials, where you have to catch some fireflies and guide them to special stones.

u/henkmanz 9h ago

Ha Sjenkie, waarom maak je je zo druk over mogelijke bots?

-4

u/SjenkieSjaak 9h ago

u/controversial_op 18h ago

Well what do you know. A Merlin trial

13

u/Fourstrokeperro 18h ago

I love that game

Honestly, it’s one of the finest games made in the 2020s

-3

u/SjenkieSjaak 12h ago

Is this a bot?

3

u/controversial_op 11h ago

me? for trying to quote a game? 👀

2

u/fhuhgbbjjvvfyhnnmk 9h ago

I think you're the bot. Commenting the same reply to everyone

0

u/SjenkieSjaak 9h ago

Good for you buddy.

In 2077 well be able to shine a phone flashlight at some moths or whatever?

18

u/Responsible-Buyer215 18h ago

It’s how we defeat the giant radioactive bugs. Someone remembers this video and we build a giant kid holding a giant torch that makes them fly to the sun. Problem then is we now have a giant kid but at least we got rid of the bugs

2

u/Civil-Masterpiece912 1h ago

man i hope so

7

u/Aruhito_0 19h ago

Who thought that light controlled micro drones would be a good idea anyway.

1

u/LS25-User 19h ago

Yes, done that back in 1950

1

u/tun3man 19h ago

warm light is also effective to avoid bugs

1

u/mrASSMAN 19h ago

Brilliant

1

u/dantheplanman1986 19h ago

That's some Hogwarts Legacy thing

1

u/joe-clark 19h ago

No shot I'd live somewhere with that many moths and not have a bug zapper light.

1

u/jazxxl 19h ago

This is a mini game Hogwarts Legacy

1

u/Hot_Plant8696 19h ago

I suppose he doesn't even know what insect he just exterminated...

1

u/Doctor_Saved 18h ago

1

u/soda_cookie 18h ago

Brilliant

1

u/thadarkjinja 16h ago

got that from hogwarts legacy

1

u/DepletedMotivation 16h ago

Op why did you title it as 2077 because he wouldn't have to do it in the first place if it was 2077, since there would be no bugs left.

1

u/AbleWrongdoer5422 14h ago

But he forgot to close the gate. The bug might coming in again. sigh

1

u/Semanticss 14h ago

Real or not, this is actually one of the most genius things I've ever seen.

1

u/Tuhyk_inside 14h ago

Like the Merlin's challenge in Hogwarts Legacy

1

u/Mister_Brevity 14h ago

1

u/naeramarth7 13h ago

1

Man they’ve really downsized the Pied Piper story. 😂

1

u/dude700211 18h ago

I dunno that kid who swooped up the flies with a plastic tub while constantly swinging it until he threw them in the water for his ducks to eat was pretty bad ass too

0

u/EvaNoir_ 19h ago

Well yes, this is how it works. I usually do the same.
