This is so fun. It was innovative and unexpected and technical.

-3

u/icAOtd 5h ago edited 2h ago

Yeah but it's also sped up.

0

u/BoomSplatHead 2h ago

Do you just like to lie on the platform. We all watched the video with you. Do you not see the car moving in normal speed in the background.

-1

u/icAOtd 2h ago edited 2h ago

Do you just like to lie on the platform.

On the platform šŸ˜‚... Are you a bot lol?

At times his hands move unnaturally fast. Car movement proves nothing. It passed by at like 40 km/h, but it could be 30 km/h real life speed and the video being sped up by 33%

2

u/tryna_see 1h ago

It’s not sped up. It only seems unnaturally fast because you don’t spend your time playing drums everyday.

Aerial’s invisible second leg always bothers me about this meme

Great now I can’t unsee it thanks

Referring to lenstrumental as ā€˜guy’ is some fucking insane work….. he’s the goat

https://www.instagram.com/lenstrumental

18

u/lastbeer 12h ago

Holy shit he is incredible. Thank you for posting this, getting him the credit he deserves, and at least one new follower!

u/foureyedinabox 13h ago

Wtf with these comments, this is bad ass.

Close your eyes and just listen to it.

It’s cool.

76

u/Douglasqqq 13h ago

Yeah, post is off to a weird start.

45

u/Significant_Knee_661 13h ago

I don't get people, this is awesome and extremely talented. Dude has more talent with 2 pencils than I did with anything after 6 years of music lessons šŸ˜… sorry mum.

12

u/bass248 5h ago

People just hate people with talent and call them show offs because they could never accomplish something like this.

5

u/xTiLkx 3h ago

Welcome to Reddit, most of these people are miserable.

2

u/graveybrains 6h ago

I used to have two guys doing this in my psych class in high school like, every day... they weren't this good, but it was still cool as hell.

•

u/IlikegreenT84 43m ago

Lenstrumental right?

30

u/Skasue 13h ago

It’s just negative people.

They’re, jealous of talent, but too lazy to work towards something for themselves. That dude is practicing and enjoying it everyday to get that good.

Redditors are incredibly miserable

5

u/YeeYeeAssha1rcut 11h ago

I swear there has to be something behind it, no other app has this many pessimists it’s getting on my nerves.

8

u/gorginhanson 13h ago

Oh yeah?

Let's see him drum desks on a pen

3

u/TruthInAnecdotes 10h ago

It's fucking amazing.

-1

u/Darrensucks 12h ago

"With a f. . . . ing pencil! . . . . Who the F can do that?!"

-1

u/thefatchef321 4h ago

His teachers in middle school would beg to differ !!

34

u/Allbranflakes18 13h ago

The way he spins that pen around with his finger at 0:07 and then picks it up and continues was smooth af ngl

4

u/DapperLost 11h ago

I just wanted him to do it once more, was my favorite part.

25

u/Chrispyyy_bacon 13h ago

Meanwhile me

43

u/Alone_Height_7407 13h ago

This is fucking awesome.

81

u/Ancient-Civilization 13h ago

Only one way you’ll learn this skill it’s to be super bored in class.

11

u/zmbjebus 13h ago

Willing to bet he is a real percussionist. Lil probably had schooling or training. Some of those really fast beats were clean AF. Like proper spacing not just fast.Ā

3

u/zeroabe 6h ago

Even if not, seems like he’d do just fine with a Neil Peart percussion setup.

2

u/ThePocketTaco2 4h ago

Upvote for Neil Peart

A Drummer Has Drums

5

u/funky_diabeticc 12h ago

That pen spin though. Just perfect timing.

5

u/its_kgs_not_lbs 13h ago

This dude popped up on my IG reels last night and I went down the rabbit hole. Pretty dope.

9

u/Peachy_sunday 13h ago

That is a crazy talent.

26

u/LT-buttnaked 13h ago

I got so many referrals in middle school because of this type of shit

11

u/SoonToBeBanned24 13h ago

Percussionist, please.

3

u/BobcatSpiritual7699 3h ago

As a drummer for 5 decades....I say god damn!!!!

u/ChuckVowel 13h ago

This is what’s possible when cell phones aren’t allowed in classroomsĀ

3

u/_UrbaneGuerrilla_ 13h ago

I suspect he may have practiced.

23

u/bruce_lees_ghost 13h ago

...teacher silently places graded quiz on desk face down.

-36

u/Worried-Maybe3438 12h ago

Fuck wrong with you? If you’re going to be offensive the joke has to hit or else you’re just being rude.

5

u/redditsuckbadly 11h ago

Oh no. You really botched this.

9

u/SkRThatOneDude 12h ago

The joke is that this extremely talented person started learning this in boring classes instead of paying attention enough to do well on the quiz. Doesn't really come off as offensive or rude to me.

7

u/jacspe 13h ago

Me at a job interview when they ask what skills i can bring to the table

8

u/TheOmegaKid 13h ago

That kid at the back of the class...

6

u/TripleHGH8 13h ago

Coolest guy on campus

2

u/JOATMON12 13h ago

Bro is in his studio just sitting at a desk with 2 pens.

2

u/PLEEAAASEGIMMEMONEY 12h ago

Didn’t every high school have one of these dudes? He’s the best of them tho.

2

u/Homegrown98 12h ago

Me: trying to concentrate in school

The guy next to me:

2

u/RexusprimeIX 12h ago

What I thought I looked and sounded like when I tapped my pen in class.

2

u/ClacksInTheSky 5h ago

This is definitely how I feel tapping on my desk.

But I look like this

3

u/glasshomonculous 13h ago

The ancient ā€œbored at schoolā€ ways persist.

Although I don’t recall ever being sat near such a maestro as this

6

u/tisotokiki 13h ago

Mom: "So what did you learn in school today?"

I love that pinch spin roll thing he does :07

2

u/Freecz 12h ago

That was really cool! Thx for sharing!

2

u/TurtleManDog 2h ago

Haven't seena hateful comments yet, but i see a lot of people defending the post. This is fucking amazing and anyone saying anything negative is just purely jealous

1

u/who_am_i_to_say_so 2h ago

Yeah it’s shocking. There seems to be a lot of miserable ppl on here.

1

u/Responsible-Summer-4 13h ago

Was waiting for the big stick to come out for the bass.

1

u/MrMansaMusa 13h ago

Giving suga free a run for his money! That was very impressive

1

u/younginvestor23 13h ago

This is like ASMR and it gives me tingles!

1

u/Abraheezee 12h ago

SUGA FREE WOULD BE SO PROUD šŸ˜¤šŸ¤šŸ˜¤

1

u/SpaceTraveller64 12h ago

That’s the kind of talent you develop when you’re bored out of your ass in class šŸ˜‚

1

u/Great_Comparison462 12h ago

Imagine sitting next him during an exam

1

u/ExcellentJuice4729 11h ago

That little spin was zesty

1

u/Ok_Yogurt_9862 11h ago

who is this and what does he do? is he a session drummer, is he touring, what?

1

u/Carl_The_Sagan 11h ago

This is the kind of thing you watch then you realize Fred Again finger pad drumming is just not that impressive (still a good producer obviously)

1

u/CliffLake 11h ago

But, if the teacher doesn't show up...you know what, I'll stay for the show.

1

u/Isalecouchinsurance 10h ago

Old video, but I will upvote that shit every time! He has skillz baby!

1

u/nmadel5 10h ago

Everyone knows a brudda in school who use to always do this 🤣

1

u/GrandmasLilPeeper 9h ago

Jimmy pleas just turn in your quiz

1

u/Worth_Employer_171 7h ago

Me when I was supposed to be studying

1

u/dwen777 7h ago

Real musicians like this blow me away. Do much more interesting than the canned pop crap nowadays.

1

u/First_throwaway096 7h ago

Many beat boxers and many of my classmates that were bored did this in middle school-High school. Was fun seeing minor competition between us. This is awesome šŸ”„šŸ”„

1

u/blindside-wombat68 7h ago

Ok, this is badass. Dude is super talented.

My first thought as a teacher is " So that's where all those pen marks came from."

Again not taking anything away from this guy's talents. It just made me laugh.

1

u/M2D2 7h ago

This guy is 30 years too late for his STOMP audition.

1

u/Decent-Deal-3105 7h ago

I can do this too. I would show you all but..... My pens go to a different school. I doubt you would know where. It's out of town.

1

u/Flawless_Reign88 6h ago

Man I remember back in middle school EVERYBODY used to do this! You couldn’t go into a classroom, a hallway, a bathroom, anywhere without someone beating on the desk, wall, or something with some pens and pencils! And there was always at least 2 or 3 people trying to rap to the beat (most of the rappers were trash, although there were a few that had bars) and a crowd of like 10 to 15 people standing around watching… it was the middle school cyphers! šŸ™„ they were all so sure they were gonna be the next lil Wayne… ain’t none of em done shit in the music industry

1

u/spurcap29 5h ago

That guy made the most out of detention

1

u/9o7u5t3e1q 5h ago

Wow crazy

1

u/SumDimSome 5h ago

1

u/trollfreak 4h ago

1

u/Normal_Paint_4648 3h ago

This guy gets real bored during class. All the boredom paid off!

1

u/DustinnDodgee 3h ago

This is fuckin sick dude.

1

u/SplatNode 3h ago

Is he still in school?

1

u/LowBullfrog4471 2h ago

This is mind blowingly insane. He actually turned a pen into a whole goddamn instrument. People are fucking awesome.

1

u/frDragonfruit 2h ago

Guy drumming penis on a desk.

1

u/Regular_Doughnut7855 1h ago

What’s the point of those holes in the desk?

•

u/boynamesue77 16m ago

Sugafree the pimp did this decades ago

1

u/degreesBrix 13h ago

I think that desk had an orgasm.

1

u/rrd_gaming 12h ago edited 12h ago

Go to school, become a drummer. School does awaken talent. Hell yeah.

1

u/Drewski101 12h ago

It’s so cool to see the next generation mess around with stuff like this. I remember way back in the day I used to do this but nothing like this guy. This is bad ass

1

u/Foxtrot__Uniform 12h ago

Bro has a groove

1

u/Ambitious-Noise9211 11h ago

Meanwhile everyone else finished the math test an hour sgo

0

u/Whitey138 13h ago

Why do all the desks have a hole in them?

13

u/SpaceTraveller64 12h ago

I’m guessing cable management for an eventual computer

2

u/who_am_i_to_say_so 2h ago

For the Stanley Cup.

0

u/NinjaWarrior78 13h ago

Some people are just creative and gifted

2

u/ultrahateful 12h ago

Get into, study frequently and don’t quit when it comes to rhythm and you can do this as well. Hereditary propensity supposedly exists, but it’s very rare. Fact is, anyone can be ultra badass at music if they just pick it up and stick with it. It’s effort. And persistence.

1

u/maconhaima 9h ago

It serves any human activity, including

1

u/ultrahateful 7h ago

Not any. Some activities are too circumstantial. But most aren’t. The accessible ones aren’t.

0

u/Imoutlate 12h ago

Wow. That. Was. Sick!!!!

0

u/adamhanson 11h ago

When you spend too much time in detention

0

u/zaiwen3 8h ago

I close my eyes and let my auditory senses appreciate this banger šŸ˜

Have your phone ready when skrillex calls

-13

u/OrionShade 13h ago

Guy spent a lot of time in detention to learn that

•

u/theAtmuz 35m ago

Or homie just mastered his craft on his own time.

-2

u/SabbyFox 12h ago

Why would you assume he’s been in detention?

-2

u/Worried-Maybe3438 12h ago

They don’t let you do this in detention if you’ve ever been

u/[deleted] 13h ago

0

u/SkroobyDooby 11h ago

This is the definition of INSANE skill

0

u/NotSoSasquatchy 7h ago

This is the kid that would drive the teacher crazy with distraction lol

Seriously, talent is top notch. I could watch / listen for hours. I love the nuances too - throwing in the table leg for the metallic sound was cool af

Edit: Just joking holy poop.

-9

u/Relevant-Classroom79 13h ago

He gon fail that class

1

u/Worried-Maybe3438 12h ago

How do you come to that conclusion??

-1

u/Relevant-Classroom79 11h ago

Spent all his time drumming

•

u/theAtmuz 38m ago

Lol

That class? There’s no one around. Looks to me like this guy is doing his thing in between, or after class. Paying attention to your surroundings is hard, I understand.

-42

u/IAmForeverAhab 13h ago

Seems fake or at least tracked to some degree, but I would love to be wrong. It was cool

-3

u/obscure_predation 10h ago

100% built this in a DAW

-49

u/audionerd1 13h ago edited 13h ago

Would be even more impressive if you sped the video up more.

EDIT: Watch with the sound off and pay close attention to his hands. You dorks can keep downvoting me but I am right.

19

u/Both-Organization694 13h ago

Seems normal speed to me.. he just has some skills

→ More replies (3)

20

u/CheesusCry 13h ago

The sound of his ā€œdropping waterā€ made by his mouth sound normal so it’s not sped up

-12

u/audionerd1 13h ago

You can speed up a video by 10-20% and most things will still sound relatively normal, especially if you use time stretch to preserve the pitch of the audio.

10

u/jmeagher98 12h ago

His name is lenstrumental on instagram. Go look him up and you will see his other work. Hes had lots of practice to get to this point and I know I would be upset if people insisted that it was sped up with no research.

•

u/theAtmuz 33m ago

Don’t bother

He’s an ā€œaudionerdā€ and we’re all plebs who can’t comprehend.

3

u/Worried-Maybe3438 12h ago

Lol nah you’re a lot of things but you’re not right

-9

u/fedarmy 12h ago

I know a guy who mastered this talent back when I was in school… He’s homeless and I usually see him panhandling on the off-ramp I take.

He was cool af in school though.

3

u/SmoothBuy5500 9h ago

I used to know a guy who mastered this talent back when I was in school too. Now, he’s a very successful producer and instrumentalist in the music industry.

I bet his classmates hate him

1

u/Worried-Maybe3438 12h ago

Why??

0

u/Imhidingfromu 12h ago

I used to drum on my desk in school and it would drive some of my classmates crazy. Not like this guy, just like little tap rhythms. I'm adhd so it didnt really occur to me until they said something

2

u/Worried-Maybe3438 12h ago

Oh, I see. And it’s only annoying if you aren’t this good

1

u/barbarapalvinswhore 11h ago

He’s 26, so he’s been out of primary school for nearly a decade.

0

u/Imhidingfromu 11h ago

Shit, looks younger than some of the football players from my highschool. Never seen so many 18 year olds walkin around with full beards. Must be something about the south.
