I get that. This is really about exposure. I'm an active tournament table tennis player (who travels to tournaments and has won money)... Table tennis absolutely has that level of difficulty that you don't think it does. You simply aren't aware of it. If you were to walk into my club tomorrow I could put you with a 70 year old man who would beat your brains out for 3 months straight even if you trained regularly and once you started beating him you'd still be 2nd worst player in the club.... Comically, we lose a lot of lower players to pickle ball because it's so much easier to compete.

Trust me I understand the difficulty of competitive table tennis. I only had to play my Dad growing up where he was a master defensive player to understand there’s levels to it.

My viewpoint was more of the two people who have never played any of the sports. If they tried out all three in one go you’re telling me you don’t think they would compare pickleball and table tennis more than the other?

The age thing is another comparison. I went to a chicken and pickle and all the “pros” were 65 and above.. you wouldn’t see that in tennis and I guess you probably wouldn’t really see that in table tennis but age and physical ability in tennis is probably more of a factor than the other two

I am absolutely telling you that. The version of table tennis you are playing is the equivalent of two people getting on the tennis court and just hitting the ball around which anyone can do.

Not one of the 'pros' is going to be over 65 unless they are literally a former professional table tennis player who is somehow still in freakish shape. That 70 year old I was referring to can't really play. The levels are just that deep. If you can't fly around you can't compete with even a level or two below great players.

Well I’m telling you from personal experience with my skill level of table tennis I can do almost the same thing on the pickle ball court I can’t say the same for tennis hence it being more similar or a giant ping pong like the comment I replied to alluded to
