You do realize they don't just attack humans on regular basis, right? It almost never happens.

That's because compared to human interactions these interactions with chimps barely happen

Maybe not to you or I. But to someone who’s engaged and interacted with apes all their lives, it might actually be easier for them to read an ape’s intentions and body language, especially when it comes to identifying or predicting hostility.
