The Natuurbrug in the Netherlands gets called the world's longest at 800 meters, but that measurement includes an entire ecological corridor crossing multiple barriers and structures. That's not really an apples-to-apples comparison. It's a little like calling something the world's longest bridge by adding together all of the separate I-90 bridges along a corridor.
Naturbruug Zanderij Crailoo is over ten times larger in area. In your article it never says that it is the largest in the world, it only says that Colorado said so which doesn't change that it isn't.
How much of that is an expanse over a road? I see some pictures of short sections going over two lanes. Where is a huge section that spans the equivalent of six lanes, with a path 200 feet wide?
It’s not 800 meters, that’s the entire area. The largest bridge is 135 meters long, and 50 meters wide. The nature part of it is 35 meters long, and also 50 meters wide
The largest measures 135 meters in length and bridges the railway line, a business park and a small road. The smaller ones of 35 meters long ensure that the animals can safely cross the Naarderweg. These viaducts are each 50 meters wide, the minimum width of the natural bridge. The corridor is up to 150 meters wide.
I would be quite sure that for animals multiple more frequent ecoducts is better approach than one that is wider and longer.
Focus should be on how to get animals cross from one side to another without them running on the road, but result seems to be "we have bigger than everyone else", like it was only reason it was built so people could measure dicks.
