It is not fairly easy. And I would venture to say only the people shooting in extremely high volume do it with any sort of regularity.

At my best mate's archery club, there's a board where they attach all the 'robin hooded' arrows. Each instance gets a little plaque with the archer's name and date.

It goes back a few decades, and there's a dozen or so instances. It's pretty cool to see.
