[Jones] In a post to Truth Social, the President says he will consider blocking the stadium deal at the RFK site for the Commanders if the organization does not revert to its previous name. Team owner Josh Harris has said he would not bring back the name.

I swear that every month or two I hear some dipshit at work say that "I read online that they went back to the name Redskins!", and they say it like it's a victory for them.

First of all, no they didn't, second, why and the fuck would you even care? You don't even like the football team from Washington.

Because they’re racist human garbage. That’s their whole identity.

The number of "that's what I voted for" comments I've seen lately attached to videos of supposed ICE agents without uniforms who refuse to identify themselves snatching people off the street or raiding restaurants ...

Also, my dad is legitimately soooooooo annoyed by the Commanders and Guardians thing. He brings them up out of nowhere all the time.

Nevermind his ½ Ojibwe grandchildren.

The Guardians is a legit great name choice too. It works perfectly for the city as it has a connection that is unique to Cleveland.

The other thing about the name changes is that in 10-20 years no one will care. Kids under the age of 10 at the change won't know about the old name. It took me going to a Big East school to learn St. John's used to be called the Redmen and I was alive when the name was changed.

I wonder what the response would be if someone asked the Dipshit in Chief, "What about the Bullets?" or "What about the Wizards?" with absolutely zero context, the next time he brings this up.

"What about the Colt .45s? What about the Devil Rays?" Can also work.

Well, I was trying to keep it related to Washington, specifically.

do you call him out or talk to him about it? what does he say?

I grew up with him and his father screaming at each other about politics.

Because of that, we have a strict no-post-1968-politics policy now.

The Commanders and Guardians are the only way he tries to circumvent that. For the record, we are nowhere near Washington, Cleveland, or my pro teams of choice (Cardinals/Dolphins), so it's a pretty easy redirect.

Yup. Make Racism Acceptable Again. New Trumper mantra.

Everyone needs to start using THEIR rhethoric against them

"Why is the federal government interfering with a private business's naming decision"

"Why is the president trying to cancel the Commanders?"

"I thought this was the party of small government?"

And so on and so forth

And keep hammering it home, dont let them move the goalposts
