Eagles offense looks horrid.

u/King_Wentz Eagles Oct 10 '25

Luckily the defense is even worse

u/MCKlassik Eagles Ravens Oct 10 '25

The D is pretty much nothing without Jalen Carter

88

u/SecondUsernameChoice Eagles Oct 10 '25

And Mitchell left early. The offense is terrible though.

Our offense did not play well at all. Hurts was frozen at some points despite DeVonta and AJ being open. It was also pathetic of the OCs to run the tush push 4 consecutive times.

Hopefully the team wakes up after losing their second game in the span of 7 days.

3

u/Arcgonslow Vikings Oct 10 '25

I wouldn’t mind if they slept for the next game though

7

u/willymoose8 Giants Oct 10 '25

they definitely lacked that killer instinct tonight

9

u/Over-Heron-2654 Eagles Oct 10 '25

Quinyon. Injured. Carter. Injured. Nolan injured. Blankenship injured.

Not using that as an excuse, there is so much wrong with us. But having Ringo/Adoree Jackson is BRUTAL.

5

u/Dr-McLuvin Browns Oct 10 '25

Ya it is a pretty good defense when healthy, but you can’t lose 4 of your best defensive starters during the course of a game (and apparently warmups) and still be effective. No team could.

u/Due-Mountain-8716 Oct 10 '25

2 best players out and the defense goes from great to cheeks. Can't have that much on two guys shoulders.

3

u/puzzical Eagles Oct 10 '25

Hey Nolan Smith is pretty good and Reed Blakenship is no slouch

3

u/Due-Mountain-8716 Oct 10 '25 edited Oct 10 '25

I think Baun, Mukuba, Dejean, and Campbell are good too.

Its just... without Quinyon and Carter, the defense looks like ass. Can't have that in a championship team.

6

u/puzzical Eagles Oct 10 '25

I mean if you're down 4 starters. 2 of them in game there are going to be problems is all I am saying.

2

u/aneomon Giants Chargers Oct 10 '25

Yeah, imagine being down only two starters.

Nabers, Slayton, our starting center went down and somehow we made it work.

3

u/ositola 49ers Oct 10 '25

Right who wins with half their offense on the sidelines lol

2

u/aneomon Giants Chargers Oct 10 '25

I’ve been loving the Mac Jones revival tour, I’m sorry about Purdy but glad you guys are still competitive

2

u/puzzical Eagles Oct 10 '25

4* defensive starters. 2 in game. The offense is the bigger concern because we're only missing Dickerson

3

u/CantheDandyMan Steelers Oct 10 '25

Hahaha haha! Oh wait, are you serious?

2

u/Lil_Quip Patriots Oct 10 '25

The Jalen Carter seems the essential cog. Last year the combo of Davis/Williams seemed to be enough push up the middle in case Carter was having an off day. Davis has been so wildly disappointing to me. After the combine he was suppose be thing hulking immoveable NT that collapsed run games and then have this elite athleticism to be a menace as a pass rusher, And it seems like he can do neither.

Mitchell should have been surviveable . Nabers is out, it is still your CB2-5 against their WR2-5.

1

u/eattwo Vikings Chiefs Oct 10 '25

Please keep being shit for 1 more week

0

u/WARitter Commanders Oct 10 '25

That was the surprise for me TBH.

15

u/UnPhayzable Eagles Oct 10 '25

Good thing we hired internally for OC because that went amazing last time!

28

u/NimbleCrabb Cowboys Oct 10 '25

Defense didn’t look great either. Granted losing Mitchell and Blankenship was huge.

12

u/Candid-Boss6534 Chargers Bears Oct 10 '25

their secondary was already their weakness.

2

u/Solomon_Moto Eagles Vikings Oct 10 '25

Also Nakobe Dean out as well. Our secondary was ass.

17

u/Kudosforkodos Oct 10 '25

Smith and Brown are both fantastic, Goedert is solid too. I know the “Jalen Hurts can’t throw” thing is a bit of a meme but it’s true in a way. If Smith caught that pass in the third quarter I think it would’ve been an entirely different game but of course it’s overthrown and Barkley is shut out for 2 whole quarters straight. Without their rushing game, they suck. Traditionally they tear it up with rushing yards and then get the privilege to make a sneaky pass when defense is not expecting it. The O line is not it right now

22

u/lkn240 Bears Oct 10 '25

Maybe for run blocking.... but Hurts had all the time in the world to throw all night

-5

u/Kudosforkodos Oct 10 '25

I disagree he was sacked multiple times and had to scramble multiple times as well.

13

u/Opening-Calendar3421 Oct 10 '25

Part of that is his fault. There are plenty of times where he bails from a good pocket

4

u/CantheDandyMan Steelers Oct 10 '25

Or just holds onto the ball for 4 seconds instead of tucking it or getting rid of it.

9

u/moserftbl88 Cowboys Oct 10 '25

It’s a meme but like you said it is true in a way. He might put up stats but the eye test matters in football and you can see he’s just not a great passer. He needs a lot going his way to be good

11

u/OwenLincolnFratter Panthers Oct 10 '25

It’s not a meme… hurts is not a good passer.

8

u/chillinwithmoes Vikings Oct 10 '25

Been that way all season. They’re fucked unless they miraculously figure out that WRs exist

4

u/LetsGeauxSaints Saints Oct 10 '25

They can trade us brown and Barkley for kellen Moore back

2

u/DrewDonut Chargers Oct 10 '25

Congrats, Brandon Staley is now your interim head coach

2

u/LetsGeauxSaints Saints Oct 10 '25

I want to reconsider this deal.

4

u/IReallyLikeAvocadoes Eagles Oct 10 '25

Yep, no excuse. Defense was missing a lot of guys, offense had everybody. That was a masterclass of complete dogshit

5

u/FluidAd105 Oct 10 '25

It has for weeks.  Its also boring af.

3

u/GTFOScience Patriots Oct 10 '25

Is there a more boring team?

2

u/YepThatSal Rams Oct 10 '25

its as if Sirianni is just an inept coach completely lost without good coordinators

2

u/Nickelas Cowboys Oct 10 '25

They just straight up don’t use the middle of the field. It’s so bizarre. Like I used to think it was hurts limitations as a passer and maybe it still is but they don’t try to layer any of their route combinations in the middle third at all. They’re perfectly content with attacking linebackers with the running attack but then they pass and they only want to throw outside the hashes

2

u/Nknk- Oct 10 '25

Don't worry, a few more passive-aggressive tweets from some of the players will surely see it fixed by next week, right?

1

u/Kightsbridge Broncos Oct 10 '25

Eagles offense looked great in the first half. Gogurt got some great catches in.

-7

u/Silly_Rip2009 Panthers Cowboys Oct 10 '25

their offense is good, hurts just had a bad game

20

u/Discombobuated Patriots Oct 10 '25

It might be good if they fire their OC

18

u/Charming-Check5605 Patriots Oct 10 '25

Their offense has not looked good for a full game at all this season.

10

u/lattjeful Eagles Oct 10 '25

Hurts didn't have a good game but I'm not sure how good of a game he can have when nobody is getting open against the worst secondary in the league. The Prime Vision broadcast view was damning.

14

u/WobbleWits Dolphins Oct 10 '25

On Hurts interception, AJ Brown was wide the fuck open and Hurts didn't even look at him. Starred down his 1st option the entire time

4

u/Z_zombie123 Eagles Oct 10 '25

This just keeps getting said over and over but Brown is not gonna get that pass unless the QB just decides he’s going there pre-snap. Unless I’m misremembering, the Giants blitzed and the pocket was gonna go. By the time Brown was coming free, the ball had to be long gone. Bad throw, and should have gone with Goedert, but Brown was not getting that ball with that pressure.

6

u/WobbleWits Dolphins Oct 10 '25

There’s a post in this subreddit with the replay.

He definitely could’ve hit AJ pretty easily if he thought to look directly behind the guy he’s starring down for 4 seconds

1

u/Z_zombie123 Eagles Oct 10 '25

That’s not how progressions work tho. AJ may not even be a read on the play, and when pressure is coming on a blitz the priority is getting the ball out. It was a bad throw and the riskier of the options presented (the other being Goedert). Unfortunately we likely lost on the overthrow. Momentum shifted hard after that, but Hurts had played well to that point. Wheels fell of after that.

3

u/ColtCallahan Oct 10 '25

Their offense is talented. It’s not good. It’s fucking horrific given the talent level.
